as long as he knows how to burp the system, i cant see someone ******* up something that takes the loosining and tightening 4 clamps.

No special knowledge is required for replacing the hoses. However, making sure the coolant system is free of air is not straightforward on an FD. I would find a mechanic that has done this for FDs if you can.

1) Changing the hoses is not different than any other car.

2) If I were paying a mechanic to do it, I'd also include the turbo coolant hoses at a minimum and ideally I'd have them all done. Unlike most cars, the rad hoses last longer than the other coolant hoses in an FD.

The lower radiator hose must have a steel wire “spring form” inside it to prevent it from collapsing at high RPM from the low pressure (suction) at the inlet of the water pump. Squeeze the lower hose to determine if a spring form has been installed. If not, replace the hose with one that contains this critical feature. The top hose does not require a spring form.

I got this article from racing beat website. Can anyone tell me if this is true? and do we all have it? I just replaced my radiator hoses and I don't think I saw or installed that.....
