Garrett GT47, anyone used on or one similar?

Heres the specs and maps on the turbo:

http://www.turbobygarrett.com/turbob...R_763740-1.htm

What would that compare to? Does Holset or some other turbo companies have something similar and has anyone used one before on a 13B?

Heres the engine setup that we are thinking, Cosmo 13B-RE w/agressive streetport, long tube header (12-13" primaries), NRS ceramic seals, JW lower intake manifold, E&J 1244 CFM throttle body, liquid-air I/C.

Whatdya think? Lets here your input.

That turbo would be better suited for a 20B. Its huge.

What are your power goals and what would the car be used for? Without knowing the answer, i'm going to guess that you would be much better off with a GT4294R or a GT4094R

Yeah I know its a huge bitch! I've held it.....fockin heavy and its probably larger than my head.
Basically our power goals dont exist, whatever we can make....700+ ?

BTW the exhaust housing is a 82 trim .96 A/R , to me that doesn't seem like and unreasonable exhaust size.

900hp would be nice I was just looking at PWR Liquid/Air I/C barrels and the 8"x10" flows 1530 CFM and costs $1500 !!!

Just trying to figure out the CFM that the GT47 flows.

Ok so lets say we decided to full bridge the Cosmo 13B, nothing crazy, just cut a a nice eyebrow right along side the rotorhousings. Just throwing ideas out there!

as stated before, its easier to go with the tried and proven stuff first.

then go with new stuff, new stuff means alot omre $$ and if you guys havent played with the sizes before it, I dont think you should go for it right away.

gt47 is probably going to need mucho boosto and AI for sure.

have you guys setup anything like that before ?

I would probalby go with the tried and proven GT4294 or similar journal bearing setup ( S366 or S400's popular drag setup ).

Well anyways, Dont mind me.

I want to see it the next ottawa meet. so you better have what ever done !!

Would deffinetly be a drag only turbo. a couple gt4294 and gt4202's kickign around the forum arent spooling utnill well after 4k, i beive it might be right around 5k with boost building over the next 1500-2000 rpm on the dyno's ive seen (obviously the street would be quicker)

a gt47's turbine is 10mm larger. i bet you could make it work, however it would be no fun at all except on the highway.

Hmmm I like where this is going....nobody has even tried it before.

Well we have a few things to look at in regards to the engine before we decide on this turbo. If we cant put the money into the engine...then I guess a boring old GT42 will have to do

Go with a GT45F then. Right between the GT4202 and the GT47 and its non-DBB so not as $$ as the GT45RDBB.

The S510 is huge, its a 95mm inducer with a GT55 style turbine wheel, but the packaging is MUCH larger then the GT55 even. Its larger then even the big T106's from T-netics and Garrett.
