Best Clutch for autocross/road racing (n/a)
Best Clutch for autocross/road racing (n/a)
Running a 89+ N/A streetported motor, this car will be autox'd heavily, and driven sometimes daily. Don't really want a 6-puck because I'll have a 9.5lb flywheel, and that would be quite harsh.
Anyone have any experience with the ACT? I know the ACT street/strip uses an upgraded pressure plate, but for the N/A I dont think they use the same size disc as the TII's and FD's. The TII ACT kit uses a FD Disc. Hence I'm worried about the ACT street disc being to weak in the N/A kit.
Anyone use the Clutchmasters? I've heard the stage 3 has kevlar, but that it may not take the heat from road racing / autox.
Any suggestions?

Well Im going with a streetport right now and want to autox soometime in the near future and Im going with the ACT street/strip and the 17 pound racing beat flywheel. I have been talking to a few people on the 9.5 pound which I was going to get also but it tends to be to light and bog down thats why im going with the 17 racing beat. But if you want here is a kit with the ACT S/S plus the 9.5 pound flywheel for like $800 http://www.srx7.com/srFlyACTSpec.html .

I used the Centerforce Dual friction from Mazdacomp, i drag raced in it, and Auto-X heavily and never had a problem with it. Check out my sig for HP. it's siginificantly cheaper than other clutches plus it's not heavy on the pedal. It feels a little stiffer than stock. Barely. Shift mad quick yo.
