S5 T2 harness, ECU, MAF running an N/A??

Is this possible? I sold the Wolf3d and am going back to stock, stock being

N/A manifolds on a T2 block....

I have to buy exhaust and a T2 hood before I can run my rebuilt S5 turbo on the car...

SO question is.. Can I run the car without the turbo but using the Turbo electronics (ecu, maf, harness, sensors)?

Thanks I am stressed out about this...

im thinkin thats a big fat no. you may have to repin some of the connectors and it might work. also the t2 block is a 4 port, you would need a 4 port intake from an 86 na. the air flow sensor is different. also if your port job is huge then you may have some idleing issues/ running issues.

im sure there is a way, but it seems like too much of a mess to try and make it work properly.you'd be better off buying the hood and exhaust that you need, and trust me you would have alot more power!

also. why did you get rid of the wolf? just seems ill-condusive to all the mods you have done to the engine.

good luck

I have no-one to help tune it.. I went through the wolf forum and there are very few people who can help, especially on this setup..

The engine is a s5 t2 engine, with s5 manifolds (N/A) running as is, and a port job... I have all the manifolds but want the car up and running before I go spending tons of money on exhaust and still trying to find the hood..

The 86's never had a 4 port they were 6 port engines too... I am wondering what the difference is ....

Hey Trevor,
What injectors are you going to use? I think if you are using the 550cc TII injectors, then everything will be fine. If you use the 460cc N/A injectors, then you might run a bit lean using the TII ECU since the fuel maps in the TII ECU are for the 550cc injectors. Why don't you run 460cc injectors with an N351 ECU on it and an N350 pressure sensor? You'll be good to go with that set-up for sure.

The injector that are in teh car are teh dark red top injectors. Not the light red.. I think they are teh t2's but I am not sure... I have some N/A injectors laying around but no N/A ecu

I need to get this car up and reliable by the time the Gap rolls around.

The last 4 digits of the part number of the TII injectors are 2020 and the N/A injectors are 2010 so you can tell pretty easily which ones you are running if you check the number on the side of them.

So basically it sounds like you want to know the following:

stock S5 turbo II car running well if you pull off the turbo and exhaust mani to run a na header if the car would still run.

Is this what your asking in a nut shell?

well ok, im wrong. they did come with six. anyway

you should problably still get a four port intake off of a first jen gslse. unless the s5 intake runners for the aux ports wont leak air.

let us know how it goes.

Welll it already is running with the 6 port manifolds.. I am just going to the S5 electronics... From a standalone. So I know the manifolds work/line up. It is more of a "will the MAF and ecu be ok" without reading boost ect...

Chris, gslse is a 6 port motor not a 4 port.

To everyone:
What he is wanting to do is to put his turbo motor back to a turbo motor with out the turbo on it. This means running all of the turbo intakes (4 port) and running a header instead of running the turbo.

Trevor,
What is seems you will need to do is just put everything back to stock TII. ECU, harness, intakes and injectors. Basically everything back to stock setup.
Put a header on it and see how she will run since no one can tell you if it will run ok or not. If it don't then put the turbo and exhaust mani back on along with the IC on top of the motor. You will be ok to run the stock IC with out the turbo hood as long as you are easy on it. (DJ ran his that way for about 2-3k miles to break in the new motor).

I am just going to buy the sandwich adapter for the turbo oil feed, and drill into the pan for the return. And go ahead and slap the turbo on it.. This is too much hassle.. I guess it was silly to try and aviod putting the turbo on it... I will just "borrow" Marcus' downpipe and have a connector pipe fabbed up..

I think it'll work using the turbo ECU, tubo boost sensor, turbo afm. They could care less if you boost the engine or not.

The series five EM harness are virtually the same B/t turbo and non turbo on a series five.

Just make sure to use turbo ECU with turbo boost sensor and not the non turbo boost/pressure sensor.

Awesome... I wasn't quite ready for boost yet, so if it'll run like this I am golden..

BTW anyone know the PN# for the injectors? Mine are 1320 (last 4digits)

1320 does not ring a bell.

1350 would be series four n/a

1370 would be series four turbo

2020 would be series five turbo

Got your thread back to the top.
