Dallas/DFW Race Shop SCCA knowledgeable Needed
First post, and yes you could say I know almost nothing about the RX7 right now (still learning). Long story short, I bought a project a month ago someone started and never finished. That project was a 2nd Gen RX7 race car (SCCA ITS Class). Anyways it just had about 105 hours of work done on it a local SCCA inspired (name withheld) race shop. Problem is I don't think the RX7 is their expertise. The car ran in drivers school this weekend and has some bugs. I did graduate and am officially racing Jan 20th though!
The motor was built back in 1998 by Rotary Performance. It never got any mileage until this weekend. They also did a few other things. The un-named race shop did the rest of the work.
I'm looking for a place that is knowledgeable about SCCA ITS rules (I have read the GCR a few times) and specifically the RX7 to fine tune this car, work out the bugs and make it one of the fastest and best in it's class. (Oh yeah, hopefully by Jan. 1 as well ) Suspension needs tweaking, rear camber plates, gauges (ran without this weekend, ouch!), brake ducts, new fuel pump, etc - the car just basically needs to be dialed in. Any recommendations of shops or someone who can do this out of their garage in the Dallas/DFW area,? Rotary Performance is the only RX7 shop I know and they seem to specialize in drag cars.
Tip: Buy a race car that is already 100% complete if you are a rookie, don't buy a project unless you have the time and mechanical ability or like burning money.

the only way you will dial in your Suspension is to drive it and set it to your specs. not many shops in dallas but take it anywhere you knoe that does drifting or road racing its all the same info you want
First of all congratulations and welcome to SCCA Club Racing!!! You ran a total of 6 hours on the track so consider the car reliable.
I watched a few sessions this weekend. Your ITS 2nd gen looked like it was doing well, passed several faster cars. I'm going to PM you my cell number. I race an ITA and an EP car in SCCA and have some insight that might help.
The short answer for the rest of the group here is that no one around here has the entire package that you seek. Gotham has been mentioned above, and Alex and Steve would be able to help some, btw Steve raced in IT for several years.

I'm not in DFW but everything you mention is a cakewalk to me. I dont have a lot of experience with FC suspension, but I've setup Miata's and first gens so the FC can't be too much of a stretch. And I've even impressed two (not just one!) Miata drivers with the setup on my FB so apparently I've got some good ideas when it comes to settings.
PM me if you can't find a suitable shop in your area... maybe we could meet halfway or I could come pick the car up from you for gas money.

It's going to Taylor Rotorsports in Austin on Thursday. I think it's going to work out well, they have been a pleasure to deal with and very knowledgeable. I can't wait to get it back (even though it hasn't left yet!) and on the track.
You won't go wrong with the Taylors. If Chris had been closer I would have had him do my cage on my most recent project. He did great work on my EP car. Keep us posted on your progress.
