camber plates
camber plates
I have searched and i can not figure out if i would need camber plates. I just ordered the KYB AGX struts and shocks and will be getting eibach springs which lower the car .75 inches supposedly and the car would be street driver. would i need a camber plate and camber link or is that just for racing or, what i am not exactly sure and any help would be great.
For the front of an FC, you can use camber plates to adjust the camber. You can also slot the holes in the bottom of the strut for a little adjustment, but camber plates offer more adjustment and are more likely to stay put. The rear of the FC seems to be more a problem when you lower it, but someone posted a solution here recently. I think it was adjustable links (perhaps available from Mazdatrix?). Camber plates won't do anything for the rear of an FC.

For that minimal lowering you will not require the use of the camber plates in the front, nor the rear camber adjuster.
Those are only neccesary when more than allocated adjustment is required.
I have my FC's lowered much more than that and actually never required the use of the camber plates and my tires wore great.
As for the track, that's different as more than streetable negative camber is typically needed. Therefore I have gone to that setup now.
Enjoy, it'll be a whole new car. The greatest mod for an FC is the suspension and a downpipe. Regardless, N/A or FI.
