in the mid power band then it bucks at me right before redline.
BUT the catch is, it only does it when the headlights are on...
I'm thinking maybe the relay to the lights is goofed but anyone got any ideas?

If that doesn't help, feel free to blame it on solar flares.

like they said check relays if that doesn't work.
check your voltage and amperage output from the alternator. as well as your battery . check for improper grounds. and that should put you right if not. then check and see if your leading and trailing coils are good. sometimes at higher rpm's with a voltage drain from extra accessories my car use to do the same thing and it was the L2 portion of the coil.

well its an intermitten issue, if it was the coil id figure it do it all the time.
i thought the same thing but it just wasn't putting out a high enough voltage to get proper spark on mine when there was an electrical load. (mazda tribute has the same problem and its a new car) go figure huh?
