Boost Gauge reads wierd

Boost Gauge reads wierd

So i have a boost gauge that reads 10-12psi when idle and 8-10 vac when max boostering and like 20-30 psi when i let off the gas. i don't know if it's just broken or is hooked up wrong or what. any idles.

and the controller is set to 8psi i believe

have you tried pluging it into a different manifold vacuum source?

My guess is that you are reading the gauge wrong and don't know what to expect. This is what you are probably seeing, and is about what I would expect to see:

1. at idle, it reads 10-12 in Hg of vacuum (not psi of boost)
2. at max boost, it reads 8-10 psi of boost
3. when you let off, it reads 20-30 in Hg of vacuum
