I forgot to tell you guys that I met Jay at the Southern New Mexico rotary car meet which was sometime in December (10th?). I asked him about the incident with him not giving the guy his wheels or money back. He responded by saying "well once the guy stops bitching I'll pay him back. He seems to have stopped now, so I think I'll repay him soon."
I told him "Dude, usually when someone's bitching like that it means they're pissed and would like their payment right away."
Then he just went on some stupid rant about other stuff and I let the issue go and made a note to myself not to deal with this guy.
After meeting him, I feel sorry for the people he screwed over. At the meet, he was broke and still owes me some money for what I put in (forgot to aviod doing business with him). I practically paid for all the food and stuff at the meet. He didn't even have his own car at the meet! He brought a truck! I feel sorry for the people who got screwed because I know that their money has been spent and there's no way to get it back. He could save up and give it to him, but in his mind he's probably saying "I could give it back, which would be the right thing to do, but it would be more fun to spend it on me."
The meet was a disapointment. C'MON! ONLY TWO RX7S! YOU'VE GOT TO BE F***ING KIDDING ME! THE GUY WHO ORGANIZED IT DIDN'T EVEN BRING HIS OWN! Jay claimed he had some owner's who would show up from Alb. but later I found out all he did was send invitations and no one got back to him. wyallen's comments he posted before the meet were well informed. Either way, Karmaweasel was a great guy to talk to, and everyone else there (including Jay on occasion) we had a great time, but I still cant get over how ridiculous the whole situation was. There were more trucks than 7's at that meet (SERIOUSLY! 2 7's and 3 trucks!). I think Jay sees himself as an aspiring possible leader of the small RX7 community in Las Cruces. He starts with the best intentions but once issue such as money, time needed to complete these projects, and his history as a seller come in to play, he loses interest.
I'd like to at least end this on a positive note. I had a great time at the Southern New Mexico Meet and I'm sure everyone who was there did too. The people who were there were great to get along with. Still, there is more I could add here about Jay, but I see this post is getting longer so I'll let it go. If you want to learn more though, just PM me.
P.S. If wayllen's still going to be in town, he wanted to schedule a meet for the Dyno soon. I'll keep you informed and see if I can arrange some people to go too.

 

Thats honestly the shittiest thing I think think I've ever heard anybody say. "I'll pay him when he stops bitching"? Give me a ****** break. I really hope you don't show your face at any of the events we have coming up in Albuquerque, Jay. People here have been following all of this ****, and lets just say you're not likely to make any friends.

Actually, I was supposed to make the meet as well, but was hung over and just couldn't make it. I had drinks, burgers, cups, and some other stuff.

To Nick, I apologize, as the food thing was completely MY fault. How much does he owe you? Did he pay you back at all? I'll cover whatever else he owes you, since I am responsible here.

Jay is a bit of a shady character, but he's not evil or anything. The only rims he has are a bunch of blue plussers and two Limited edition rims. He didn't take his car because he couldn't afford another carburetor after the one my uncle sold him **** out. His car probably wont be running again until he can afford another one or my uncle feels bad for selling him a bum carb (it was some special, a Yaw or something). He's read this whole thing about the rims, though, and I think he's taking out you guy's vengeance. I'm not sure wether that's really all that cool or not, but hey.

About a third of the active RX7 people in the area showed up. I would have helped out a lot if I wouldn't have gotten drunk the night before, but hey.
