whole car rattles at 40

well i just bought my new car and first rx7. its a 90 fc n/a rx7 and i just got all the tires balanced and rotated and like the car runs fine and starts great and all that stuff but the only thing is once it gets to exactly 40 mph the car starts to rattle noticeably. i cant think of nething it could be so if nebody could enlighten me please do much appreciated.

If the rattle comes from under the vehicle and gets worse with speed, it's probably the drive shaft U-joints. Stock RX-7's have to replace the entire drive shaft and U-joint assembly. But there are after market U-joints and drive shafts that are separate.

Did you also have the front and rear ends aligned? Examine the wheels... bent or damaged wheels will cause vibration. After that you should check all of the rubber suspension bushings. They wear out over time and the steering and handling will get sloppy.

mine did that and it was my motor mounts....caused the drive shaft joints to break...

well i know it aint the wheels cuz now i have brand spankin new ones and got the front end aligned. so now im gonna go and fix that stuff thanks guys
