Backfiring: Assuming Is B/C I Have A Gutted cat?
Is my logic right on? It never backfired till I gutted my cat. I suspect this would be normal. It is a 91 n/a. Also, would a new o2 sensor help this, as I am buying on along w/ a Hayne's and some brake fluid on saturday!

No, that is different. That is just an idle adjust screw on the top of the TB, that allows more air at idle. The screw natedogg is reffering to is on the pressure sensor thing, at it actually adjusts the air/fuel mixture at idle. I didn't mean to say "idle/air adjust screw" in my previous post, I meant to say idle/mixture adjust screw.
Is your air pump still online. If so just take the belt off of it. Try this and let us know if that was it.
