Flaco Racing: New 20B & turbo combo - 6:79@*209*

Guys,
Just wanted to let you know that Abel ran a clean 6:79 @ 209 mph tonight in qualifying at the Las Vegas NHRA Sport Compact qualifier. A small tire shake hurt overall ET. We'll be running elminations tomorrow (Saturday) and hope to improve on this performance.

This is the firt time we've been able to run our new turbo and engine combo (no testing at all). We are happy with the new found power, reflected in the improved Mile-an-Hour. There is a very conservative tune on the car, and boost was kept moderate.

Hope to have better news tomorrow. Wish us luck... It's hard work to keep up with those piston boys!

-Bern

Career best speed for Ibarra, he was just .004 off his career best ET. Ara also ran close to his best numbers, two great runs!

So your out here with the Flaco team? I'll stop by today and introduce myself. Congrats on the runs!!!!! I was jumping all around in the stands and yelling. When he came down the return road i was the only one in the stands cheering i think. ******* sport compact crowd doesn't know how to cheer for people when they do good. Sit around like bumps on a log.

Unfortunately, Abel red-lit in the first round today. The car produced a little more boost on the line than expected, which played a part in the situation, but Abel didn't make excuses.... he screwed up! He wanted to thank everyone for the support!!

Looking for a few more good showings this season!

Abel, and his brother are still doing everything, like in years past. There are one or two other guys who support at events, but in non-technical stuff. A huge thank to the team's truck driver Gerald for the great help all year.

K&N was signed-on as a title-sponsor, and not as technical sponsor, for all those years. So there was no real expectation of technology transfer with them. It was a marketing partnership that worked out great for all involved.

Here's a little better shot of Abel at the line shooting some fire.

The 2nd gen is up an running strong. It will be getting bodywork and paint soon. It's a nice 500hp street-car! The FD is still under-construction.

No news on Jose... he's been laying low.

?????... do you mean with the FC street car? The Flaco FC is being built as a client demo street-car, not a racer... people can talk all they want, Abel has nothing to prove anymore.
