good guy, bad buy? o_O?

$45 is cheap for a new panel? [my clock works, well... it worked once, but it still had the right time - I'm guessing the backlight is out?]

Sounds like sold solder joints. Resolder the CPU, and then check on the idiot light gauge. The FCs i had just resoldering the CPU made it work. (The CPU, the black box right next to the fusebox on the driver's outside kickpanel)
Also congrats on the purchase

Good find man... body looks straight and the paint doesn't look half bad from the pic. Good luck with it bro.

Thanks ^_^

[The paint looks a LOT better after it got waxed - before the picts, if you look carefully at the pict where it was still on the lot, it was kinda looking sick], there's also a bunch of chips on the hood/light covers [not easy to see from a distance]

Oh, I was talking to the Car Toys guys last night, and they said that it'd be:
$89.99 - Reciver
$40 - standard labor
$30 - approx. part cost
$75 - EXTRA LABOR for rewiring the Amps [I think they said taking the stock Amps out, and just using the stereo's built in stuff]
I don't think the guy noticed that someone appears to have put one in before [it's got a metal tray kinda thing, with a connector in the back]

So should I be able to just take the wires from this connector thing, and put them into a normal reciver? [without tearing it all apart for the amps?]

oh.. and I know nothing[practicaly] about working on car stereos/audio equip in general.

wiring in a aftermarket deck is pretty easy. if ya get a harness it makes it 10x easier too. I just spliced mine into the stock wiring, the 2nd gen faq sticky has all the info ya really need. Plus, ya should be able to get someone from here (the forums) to help ya with that so some installer dosn't charge ya left and right for everything. Some people (ie: me) just wire the stock amps in with everything else and it works just fine, but when ya upgrade the speakers ya will want to run new wires from the deck to the speakers (like i did in the FB).
Good luck with everything

Ahh...

[slightly bad news:] Actually I had the radio installed yesterday, before you guys posted that.. ^_^""
$157, Jenson CD+AUX[$99], 2yr parts/labor warranty [$13], Parts for install [$45]
Oh, and my power antenna doesn't work [but they said if I fix it I can just bring it back in and have it hooked up]

It's a pretty nice radio for $99 [Remote, two switchable light colors{Blue, Red}, CD player, 18FM presets, 12AM presets, AUX in - try finding a cheap radio with an aux in at Car Toys; Stereo king city; or Frys :P]
[AUX in for iPod]

To get the antenna to operate with the aftermarket deck you need a relay thats if the antenna is good. Check this out:http://www.installdr.com/TechDocs/999311.pdf

I can fix your power antenna for about $5 for a relay and crimps. We have a negitive triggered signal for the power antenna, most new decks use a positive. Its really simple.

Insist on the antena only going up when the radio is on - not when your listening to cd's. FC antenna's are famous for breaking. You can get a new one on ebay.
