The Cruise

We will be leaving the Hillside Motel in Walkerton at 1pm. The cruise is expected to last four hours.

The cruise will take us through Grey and Bruce counties, passing through Owen Sound, Wiarton, Sauble Beach (bikinis are good ) and Kincardine.

Note for turbo people: there won't be many places along the route offering 94. There is a station 10 minutes from Walkerton selling it. Fuel up before the cruise. Otherwise, there will be plenty of gas stations along the route.



All particpants are strongly encouraged to each bring an FRS.

Following the cruise, the group will return to the motel. Those wanting to freshen up or whatever can do so, those wanting to carry on to Bass' for the BBQ can do so. At least one person will stay with the motel people (if any) to lead them to Bass' when they're ready to go. Bring food.

Bass has offered his house up for people to stay in overnight. He says he has room for up to 17 people. People must bring their own bedding (sleeping bags, etc.) If you want to stay there instead of the motel, contact Bass via PM. THANK YOU, BASS!

I will have ALL the info you guys need in regards to our CSCS event on July 17 on monday. Sean has been patiently asking for a while and I have been really busy to properly get back to him.

So it looks like my place will be the BBQ/party spot and place for overnighters for those who wish to stay at my place. I’ll try to give you as complete a picture as possible of what you’re in for at the Bass Place (and for the record it’s Bass with a ‘long a’ as in electric bass). But I digress…
So far, we have secured two BBQ’s – mine and Joe’s. I will have the fridge, bar fridge and freezer ready for those bringing food and drink.
I will make a spot in the back yard for those who want to feel like they’re camping – hell, bring a tent if you want to complete the experience!
For those who smoke – SHAME ON YOU! – just kidding…you can smoke inside the house in the games room only please. You can also smoke outside of course, unless it’s something like wacky tabacky – this you will have to smoke inside and share with me – lol. I don’t want the neighbourhood talking more than they already do!
There are 3 toilets, 2 bathtubs (one for ice and drinks of course) and 1 shower. I have room to sleep 25 people or more but only enough beds/mattresses/couches to sleep 14. I originally quoted 17 but have had to recently get rid of a few mattresses. (I left those out in the truck too long oops). I will look into more mattresses and cots if needed. If people want to bring air mattresses or like to sleep on wood floors then feel free to do so, there’s room for that for sure.
I would ask people to bring pillows, a sleeping bag/sheets with them. That will save me from having to do a crap load of laundry. I’ll have extra pillows and sheets if needed.

Basically, I would expect that inside the house we can be as loud as we want while being of reasonable volume outside. I would also appreciate it if everyone could keep the revs of their rotors “down in town”. There’ll be plenty of opportunity for that on the roads of Bruce.

Holy crap, how does someone have so many beds??

 

I was wondering when the water jokes would start. It's a big house and some of the beds are being used twice (ie. mattress for one and box spring for the other. Don't worry, only the box springs that are being used are like mattresses. Needless to say, not all of the box springs are being used in the count.) My place is usually the one that all of the relatives stay at over the holidays, hense all of the beds.

 

I will definately be there! I may have to hitch a ride for the cruise with Hevnsnt, but I will be there!
I might stay for the night... but that could be left for debate... I would like to secure a single bed if I do stay!

Amur, I assume that you're staying right? Let me know what you prefer.

Also, if people could let me know if they want a room to themselves or don't mind sharing rooms. They're mostly large rooms so if you are sharing you won't have to worry about rubbing cheeks, or anything else for that matter.

And like I stated before, if people want to bring air mattresses, have a passion for wood floors or want to use a tent by the fire pit in the back, you are more than welcome to do so. Just let me know so that I have an idea of who's staying.

Has anyone booked the motel in Walkerton yet? Just curious.

 

I sent you a PM re: my preference. But I am pretty sure HEVNSNT was hoping for a rendezvous with a stranger so maybe put him in a shared queen with a stranger.

 

doesn't seem like too many rx8 guys want to play with us. and as for tyhe water, it's fine now, i have drank it on numerous occasions.
