Unhappy water shooting out of reservoir

for some reason when i fill me radiator up to the top it throws out all the water through the reservoir. not too long ago i changed the radiator form my original manual transmission radiator to a automatic transmission radiator i was told that would work. if i fill the radiator to the top then fill the reservoir just slightly once the car gets heated it will actually shoot the water out like a freakin water fountain then once its okay it will just work regularly. i've been suspecting it to be my water pump but i haven't had time to fix it any recomendations??????????

check for any leaks and replace the pressure cap and thermostat. if it still has the problem then i would start testing the coolant seals.

Sorry, but they are in the "middle" of your motor. The only way to visually inspect would be to open the motor.

You can run a coolant system pressure test and see where are the leaks are.....stop the visible ones and if the pressure continues to drop then coolant is seaping into the combustion chambers via the coolant seals.

The reason the coolant is coming out of the res is (this is the theory, may not be true in your case) is that exhaust is blowing into your coolant portals through those Coolant seals and the pressure builds up and blows the water out.

Do you get a cloud of white smoke when you start up in the morning?

This is exactly what happened to me.. It was due to those damn voliton (sp?) combustion seals by RA... those things are a bitch to put in right.. It looks like I got it right with the second set, so far though

****!!! now that u say it my seven does blow out white smoke in the morning now and then. as soon as the engine is warmed up it stops blowing out the white smoke. it isn't a major amount just a little bit then it runs like the charm of an rx7 it is. please don't tell me my baby is dying. i'll try and run a pressure test on it as fast as possible. if anything else comes to mind i would love to hear it i've ran out of ideas.
