Question Skirts on the Apexi D1 Drift Car?

I've seen a couple pics of the car, and it almost looks like every pic I've seen, the car has a diff set of skirts on it lol. I'm talking about the white Apexi FD Drift car that was at JGTC.

I was almost sure it was a vertex kit all around, then I saw a pic showing C-west or RE-like skirts...not sure. The angles of the shots weren't all that. Anyone know off-hand exactly what skirts they're running on the current car? Any good pics of it too? (the skirts...not a front shot etc)?

Thanks

I could have sworn the apexi FD was running a full Vertex Body kit. I will do some research though.

If this is the car:

That is a vertex kit, hence the sticker on the front.

Yes, full Vertex kit so that should conclude that the skirts are Vertex.

What I'm having a hard time understanding is why Apexi would use another company's body products - esp. when you have your own?? Isn't that supporting your competitors??

The apexi drift car actually does sport a full vertex kit, including front bumper, rear bumper and side skirts. They have never had the border side skirts.

The bodykit on the APEX car is full Vertex. It's the new line called the Vertex Ridge. It comes with front bumper, front fender, sideskirts, rear 1/4 panel, and rear bumper. We can import them if you are interested.

They're all vertex kits except for the kit in this picture. The kit on Calvin Wan's FD is actually by a company called FINAL Konexxion. It looks alot like the vertex kit but has its subtle difference.

Check out the site.

also, look what they make for our cars....

Its not a new line, just a new edition to the Ridge lineup. Anywho, the Apexi drift car thats pictured is not the ridge kit, its just there basic Vertex line kit. The Apexi drift car featured the Ridge kit (wide body) towards the end of the 2004. You can get just the side skirts from the basic Vertex kit (pictured cars) but cannot buy pieces off the ridge kit, the ridge kit is only sold as a complete kit. Theres some pictures of the Apexi drift car with the Ridge kit on there Jap. site. It would probably be best to buy any Vertex products at Speedalliance.com, they are the US distributor for Vertex.

-Alex

Edit: I take that back, the ridge kit is shown in FDNewbie's last post of the Apexi drift car.

I tried searching, but i didnt come up with anything. My best bet would be to check with either Chuck at Rotary Extreme or Jason at JT Imports.

From their website, SystemQ's is a new JDM importer that is a full line distributor of Final Konnexion, based in Houston, TX.

Google amazes me sometimes. In searching I also came across a power upgrade setup list that apexi has. Just like what Pettit, RP, Rx7store, etc. have for FD's for different amount of horsepower.

http://www.apexi.co.jp/pro_apexi/set_up/pdf/21.pdf

Not sure if everyone can view it since I had to pop in my adobe acrobat 6.0 cd to view the japanese
