Talking 13.85 1/4 mile n/a all motor

I found a nice and empty road today to do the 1/4 mile with my car using the new g-tech pro. My first two runs i ran a 14.37 and a 14.38. Then i decided to change the way i launched and i ran a 13.85. 2.1 60ft. trap speed was 100, 1/8 was 8.9. 0-60 was 5.2, i have an 1987 6 port
large sp
550cc secondary
racingbeat header
borla presilencer
3 in. exhaust, straight through no cats
no a/c no p/s
no emmissions
4.88 rearend with a lsd
17 with cooper zeon tires
internals from 89-91
act 4 puck clutch, red pressure plate

nice, my best gtech time was 13.89 at 106mph. gtech mph is not accurate thoguh it reads high, the trap time at teh drags is an avarage of teh last 20 feet. gtech just takes it at the end of the 1/4 thats the reason.

Sounds like a nice car, but you really need to get it to a track.

I've used a g-tech in several of my past cars.

The trap speed is usually anywhere from 2-6 mph higher than it would be at a track. Like already mentioned, this is because the gtech takes your speed at the instant you cross the 1/4 mile mark, while on the track it is averaged over the last xx feet.

Any amount of wheel spin can really throw off the readings as well. You very well could have a 13 second car, but I wouldn't consider it a legitimate 13 second car until you have a timeslip in your hands.

Must be ported pretty heavily or do you use a fuel controller to tune down those 550's? most people i'd give major **** for putting those in but it sounds as you may actually benefit from them.

Or the new G-Tech SS or RR(I REALLY REALLY REALLY WANT AN RR) think of it as a mini geez setup. up to two hours of G-force recording.

I wouldn't doubt 13's w/a 4.88 gear. I cant' help but wonder if your 17" wheels are canceling out some of that higher gear though.

Its a gtech pro RR, its pretty nice. They guy that did the port job i told him to make it bigger than his large sp, so its ported pretty good.
