Any 1/8th or 1/4 miles times?

Has anyone taken a new project to the drags yet this season, since they just started opening back up around here? I am going in two weeks for the first time this year, the first day a 1/8 mile track opens. I am going down with my rx7 and the turbo talon, plus my friends turbo GSR. I can't wait to beat up on some mustangs.

Just wondering if we have some times for some first gens? I know there are some.. but they are old.. curious for times for a 6-port 13b in a first gen.

Max7 rain low 14's with his GSL-SE. (Hey GSL-SE's are 6-port 13B...)

Or do you mean FC engines? Paul Aber was going to take his car to the track last year, I dunno if that panned out or not.

Either one, doesn't really matter. Just would like to get some coparisons. I ran 9.7 1/8thh last year the first week my car was running... not running well, but running. I beat two newer V8 mustangs.. ha it was great.

Seriously that is very hard to beleive. I had a 12a in before with modded carb, headers, straight through 2" exhaust. no emmision no A/C and could get a best of 10.2. How did you pull that one off?

That was best single run, not including reaction time. Good air that night I guess because it usally averaged 10 flat.
What gas were you running?
I ran 93 (2-3 gallons max)and bumped up timing a few degrees.
I think the track is 600' above see level.
What size tire's did you have?
The generic 205-60's that were on the car when I got it were the lowest profile I've ever seen.
My cousin was there with his gsl and was running low 11's 87 oct, 175-70 tires. It seams to me a lot of the cars around here(12a's) are much slower than they should be. Then again I'm pretty hard on cars at the strip.

my 12a was running 10.60 in the 1/8th before the tracks closed.. i got a header/straightpipe/apexi muffler, and no emissions or AC. the carb was acting up though, it wouldn't keep an idle for anything.. hopefully i'll get one of them sterling carbs then take it back. =D

I think your motor must of had some secret porting or something. 93 won't help a rotary unless it is turboed.. it burns to slow. I was running 205-60s, but then again I wasn't running at night, maybe your air was much colder.. and was just a nice day. I know that many 12as don't ever get out of the 10s.

I'm glad I took off my AC if it makes that much of a difference. Heck, I put an e-fan on too, my 85 GS can probably do 8's. Just messing with ya...

12a's barely get out of 10 sec? Maybe a stock port?

I got a 9.5 in the 1/8th and that is with a non-rotary Holley 600. Hopefully tonight I will get a better time?

I mean stock 12a with out a carb and any porting.. Because I am pretty sure he said that his was all stock running 9.7. I had a good bit of bolt ons and couldn't get out of the 10s. Maybe with a bigger car and some work, you can put down some low numbers.

Not sure what you're asking. All I know is the slip said 9.76.

I think you may have met a vw freind of mine at windy hollow when you had your stang there. He was probably in a yellow ghia or grey chop top ghia or a red bug probably.
Hope to see ya at the strip sometime this summer, don't even have anything worth taking right now though.

When you get your slip, you get your times and speeds in the 1/8th mile and the 1/4 mile. Some will only run the 1/8th mile, but most times you run the 1/4 and still get your 1/8th times.

only reason i run in the 1/8th is because there are no quarter mile strips near me.. closest one is a few hours away..

i didn't get a good launch..and lost traction in 2nd gear. could have done better...but there was an oil spill, and then a wreck at the track that took up time.

actually I prefer open than a LSD. (especillay welded). use handbrake, instead of the foot brake pedal, to keep the away from red-lighting.
