weber tuning. stumbles around 6k in 3rd
When I really get on my car, it runs fine from redlineing it from gear to gear. However, once I get to about 6k in 3rd, it stops to rev, and the car just shakes. If I put the clutch in for a sec, and let the revs drop, then pop it back in, it runs fine all the way to 5th.
I'm thinking that mabey my fuel pressure is too low? This would cause the floats to bottom out, and mabey this is happening when I hit 6k in third?
It makes sence to me, but I want a second opinion on it.

Def. sounds like fuel starvation.
Fuel pressure too low wouldn't be it. A starvation problem rarely is because of insufficient fuel pressure, because as the floats drop the needle & seat opens up and allows more fuel volume to flow in.
Mallory pressure regulator? That one of them neat bypass jobbies? Nice setup. Maybe the -SE fuel pump is dying? But first things first: how old is the fuel filter? (If you have to think before answering, it's too old! Change it!) Any junk in the fuel tank? (Try sticking a magnet or two on the bottom right side of the gas tank, away from the fuel pickup on the left side, to keep rust particles away from the pickup) Clear fuel lines? Any cloggage in the carbs themselves?

Yeah its the gsl-se fuel pump. Thats a deffinate possibility, becasue I got the pump from a junk yard.
The fuel filter is as old as the motor, so about 2000 miles. I doubt thats the problem. The fuel tank and lines are from the junk yard too, (ripped em out of a GSL-SE), but I checked them out before I installed them. Lines are clear and theres no crap in the tank that I could find.
The carb is brand new, just got it from rotary shack a few months ago.
I'll try the magnet trick, just to be sure. According to my weber tuning book it says that fuel pressure is too low, but I'm not too sure about that. Especially if you said thats probably not it. I'll try bumping it up a bit just for ***** and giggles though.
Is there any way to bench test the gsl-se fuel pump? I mean its pretty easy to see that it works, I have no idea to tell how WELL it works.
Could this be any kind of a jetting problem or anything?

Easiest way to bench test is to check the fuel pressure going into the carb and go for a little WOT run. Pressure should not drop. If the pressure stays steady, it's a carb problem. If pressure falls off more than 1 or 2psi (assuming you're running 5-6psi?) then you have a fuel delivery problem.
Just because it's a new carb doesn't mean it's in good shape. Remember "new" = "untested and untrustworthy until proven good". Paranoia is a good thing to have when working on cars.
