A little cleaning tip I bet you never thought of.
When you need a quick wipe down of the interior. Dust or smoke is a constant nuisance. If your like me and you bring a dog along for the ride you have a real problem.
Run by the department stor and pick up a small pachage of the Swifer dry mop pads. Pull one pull one out for a quick wipe down that pickes up everything including pet hair. Infact I have learned that this is the best way to remove pet hair from an Armor Alled dash.
They are also great for the grimey windshield when you just notice it is dirty before a trip.
The soft pachages fit nicly in you glove box or rear compartments.

How about ways to cover up your small dents or A way to clean up all the oil leaks ehh?? Or even a way to clean up the carpet? <---- for real!

 

Huh, I guess along the same lines i use a small california car duster. but dont let it touch the windows. Smear time!

Rent a steam clean machine or pay some guy to steam clean it.

Had it done to my TII and made a world of difference. Too bad I'm tearing out the interior now...

 

Oil leaks clean up really nicely with a little brake clean and a shop towel as long as you get the oil before it collects any solid material

 

I do have a way to clean the carpet.
First vacuum the carpet as best you can. Preferably with the seats out. Then get a bucket and fill it with hot water and add some laundry soap. Take a srub brush and don't be afraid to get it wet. Infack there is usually a puddle when I do it. then you take a powerful shop vac and suck out all the water. If your carpet is really dirty, then repeat the whole proccess untill you no longer pull out dirt in the water. then you leave the windows down on a hot day. Sometimes I put a box fan in the car too, just to cerculate the air better.
I have done this to almost every car I have bought with good results. The only thing you have to worry about is using toomuch water and soaking the ECU. but it has never been a problem.
Another thing to note, if it takes too long to dry, you could get that mildew smell. That's why I use a box fan.

 

CA Car duster....lol. That is probably like how they sell Texas Pete's hot sauce up north. But can I find it in southern texas?

It is this little wand type deal that has these strings on it that are red in color. Collect dust. Sell them at Walmart. They also have a bigger one you could do the outside of the car with.

I forgot to mention that I usually rinse with regular water the last time.

 

It's prob common knowledge already, but washing the car with dawn is supposed to get rid of old wax build-up.

I stick a couple of sheets of Bounce under each seat to get rid of odors.
I've also read in an email that wiping things down with Bounce is supposed to prevent/delay dust (on the dash, tv screen, monitor, etc). I've found that it leaves a slight oil-like reside, but maybe i'm doing something wrong

You can use the Bounce sheets to wipe down the interior BUT you should do it very gently. Wiping on the surface too hard, will cause the wax-like substance on the sheets to end up on the interior. So basically,...you wiping too hard.

Also, for those of you who like to use the A/C or fans in your car. This is also a source for dust to come in the cabin. If you can, can them as best as you can. After all, they have 10+ years of dust accumulated in them.
