Thumbs up i found a 87 fc for $200

Hey guys, there is a 87 rx7 na in the local newspaper with no engine, it says in the ad the body is in excellant condition, how much would it cost me to put a new engine in it, or maybe convert over to tII? i know corksport, and some guys on here sell the turbo engines for $750 and $850 but im not sure i can install a engine myself, how much would it cost me to get one installed, also, does anyone know who sells na engines?? if somone would want to give me a engine, i could trade them my 85 rx7 that runs sorta, also i could give somone a little $$ to install it, if there anywhere near chattanooga, tn.
Let me know guys,

I've had two engine installs done:
1st at Mazda dealer - $1500 for labor
2nd at local shop - $980

Not sure where you can get an engine at, but I sometimes see people selling rebuilds and ported rebuilds on the forum.

To convert it to a TII, you'll need a TII engine, tranny, starter, harness, and a few other doo-dads. The engine can be had from www.corksport.com, however I recommend tearing apart their engines to check out overall condition of them as they are used J-Spec engines torn outta wrecked cars. To get the car running will require alot of work, but it'll prolly be worth it in the end.

You can find almost any used part you want on that site. It is a huge database of junkyards.

I went ahead and did a search for your state and found 3 N/A engines.

All 2nd Gen Japanese RX-7s were turbo...even the convertibles, lucky bastards...right? Thusly there are no J-Spec non-turbo engines. Sorry.

Why don't you try reading the very first reply. I put it there. It will give you an idea. Otherwise, pull out a phone book. Call some local shops ( not all will work on RX-7's) you might have to try a few different ones. If where you live is anything like where I live, there are an abundance of auto shops within a 5 mile radius. When you call, they can look up how many hours it takes in a book and multiply that by the hourly rate and voila, you know how much it will cost.

I would try to stay away from a Mazda dealer though. They claim that they have to call in a master-tech and charge an assload of labor.
