I dont plan on using the cheap *** stuff for weedeaters and chainsaws, what are you guys using?

Was going to make a poll, but Im not familiar with different brands. Besides, too many polls anyways.

 

Racing Beat sells Royal Purple 2 cycle oil.

 

I use Redline 2 Cycle oil mixed with a little bit of Marvel Mystery Mud

 

i ues valvoline out board 2 cycle oil. it works and its pretty cheap

I scored Penzoil TCW3 premix at KMart for about 99 cents per pint. Since they are going under, the last oils to go are the 2 stroke type. They also had gallons of stuff for around 15 bux.

 

castrol grandprix.

 

Klotz full synthetic Racing oil... mostly used in high performance snow mobiles..... appears to be (just through reading and researching) the cleanest burning and best lubricant available.... ITS NOT CHEAP.. BTW,,, I heard this is what Pedit sells as "rotary specific" in there own Brand labeled containers... but this was just a rumor [wink:]

Valvoline "Mult-Use" pre-mix in the blue bottle.&nbsp There is an "outboard" version that's slightly different - I believe the "Multi-Use" one burns slightly cleaner, as the other one STINKS in a rotary.&nbsp $2.30/quart or $6.99/gallon in Vegas.

mmo smells like pepermint not cinnamon but it does give it a hint of candy cane...

Spectro Golden. I use it in all my high power 2 cycle engines. (Quads,dirtbikes, etc.) I have rebuilt motors that ppl. have used other stuff in and the Spectro Golden burns the cleenest w/less ware. You can get it at most motocycle shops.

Mazdadrifter told me about Amsole<----I think) & that stuff has a great rep. But, I have never used it, so I can't tell you 1st hand how good it is. I would have to run a dirtbike to it's end, then rebuild it, using only the Amsole for the motor's life line. Then I could tell you. Without doing that, I can't say hey or ney.

As long as it's TCW3 it's gotta be better than than motor oil we were burning before.

I didn't think you could use MMO by itself as a premix.. when I run MMO to clean things out every 3K miles or so I still run premix in there.. is that bad?

 

It goes in the gas tank and not on the car!

I've used various tcw3 oils, MMO, ATF, motoroil(in a pinch), hobby shop oil(castor/synth/model engine oil), vegetable oil(should help with the stink), and still looking for other alternatives(usually by accident when bottles in trunk are empty).

 

Thanks for all the replies. Now I definately have some good options. Valvoline seems pretty popular, and I was planning on mixing w/MMO. Now, if only gas was cheaper...
