I just bought my 3rd rx-7, i got an 84 rx-7 with 13b engine and targa top. A couple of questions. First I have yet to take off the targa top, anyone have info on how to actaully do so, and what exactly comes off. it is the targa 7 type. Second, I am in need of a window switch, it is the type that has both left and right window switch infront of stick shift. I Know I have seen info on years and makes and specs, etc I was looking for that as far as the exact model I bought. my email is bparke3@yahoo.com or post thanks

 

You have an 84' GSL-SE. The targa top is screwed on from what i know so you'll have a bunch of littly holes after removing it....

 

It appears to be called a targa band. The Mazda RX-7 didn't have a true targe. Some believe that it's secured by nuts that are hidden beneath the headliner while others say it is held on with double sided tape.

 

I remeber someone saying in a old thread they were patching up holes from removing a targa so that why im thinking it is bolted on....

 

if is the targa 7 one.....its in 3 pieces....unsrew the side pieces..where the air vents are.once they come off the 4 screws for the middle top piece will be revealed..mine also had double sided tape underneath as well
