OIL Cooler Blues
OIL Cooler Blues
does anyone know of a smaller oil cooler that will cool a 12a. The ones in the bug.hot rod shops seem too wimpy. I have a 2nd gen cooler and it's about 1" too tall and 1" too wide for my kit car.
I was thinking that mounting it sideways, outside of the air flow, with a 4" fan might do the trick.
Please advise.
Thanks

The regular 84/85 12A cars had the "Bee-Hive" under the oil filter, virtually worthless.
Mike,
What brand cooler? B&M or Setrab. and, it it up to the duty solo, or are you running a stock unit too.
I was afraid of running that style due to others advise. But, if you're doing it and it works, I might give it a shot.
My car is a Locost 7, like the Lotus or Westfield Sevens.
Thanks

hehehe Locust...
what other models to they make, the Dung Beetle (VW knockoff) and Shelby Caterpillar?
Sorry man, not to slam on your ride. I just find it funny that they'd name a car after a biblical pest insect.
Incidentally there's a rotary powered kit car made to look like a Lotus 7 sold under the name Rotus.
