People that are familiar with AE86

Can anyone tell me how hard is it to swap a 13BT into a AE86?
How different are the engine and tranny mounts on the two cars?

Thanks

My good friend has a 89' Corolla GT-S and from what I remember it doesn't look easy. Why? is my question the 4A-GE in their kicks ***. I am sure however it can be done with money and patience. I wouldn't bother though. Good luck!

The 4AGE is good, but the car lacks speed.
They only come with 115hp or so.
Something in the area of 250hp would be nice.
The 20B swap into the AR86 was what inspired me

85 - 87 in the US for the Hachiroku GTS 4AGE RWD
88 - 91 for the Kyu-ni GTS 4AGE FWD
93 - 98 are the ones you associate as economy cars with nothing to do with performance. FWD with either a 4AFE or 7AFE.

These are all US spec ones, now the AE101 and 111 in Japan, they get the nice 20 valve version of the 4AGE with individual throttle bodies and higher compression pistons putting out 160hp.

You need custom engine mounts AND a big brake upgrade.&nbsp The stock brakes are already bad as it is - you're going to kill yourself running that much power with those stock brakes...

custom engine mounts eh? That's going to be a challenge.
I know that there are engine mounts for sale that mates the SR20DET to the AE86, anyone if such a mount exsists for the 13BT?

Maybe the SR would be a better candidate?

Thanks

The SR20DET would be MUCH better for a swap into a Hitcharaku (AE86). I've seen it done, but I have not been a witness or done one my self. It's a pretty common swap in japan with the pro drifters. See what you can scrape up on the net!
