Water found inside the car - passenger side floor

What can possibly cause water to get in??? I lifted the passenger side floor mat and the carpet is very wet with water...what the heck??

My guess is that your heater core developed a crack and is now leaking coolant.

Another possibility is if you have a sun roof there is a drain line that could be clogged and is letting water in. Pull your passenger side A-pillar to see if it is clogged.

And yet another possibility is a bad seal in your windshield allowing water to come in, but I don't think there would be as much as you described.

There is some type of drain or random hose on the bottom of the AC unit in that area. Check that first.

it's water for sure. I'll pull the passenger side a-pillar and have a look-see tonight.

i had the same problem. I pulled all the interior out and had someone put a water hose all over till i found where it was coming from.the door handal was loose
i tightened the screws and i have'nt had a leak since.i would check the screws first. then try the water hose.

There are some AC related hoses up in the very front of the passenger footwell. One of them is likely loose and guilty.

ok, i just washed my car yesterday and the water came back. apparently, the water is dripping down from somewhere above/near the glove compartment. Everything on the outside seems to be sealed pretty good...what do you guys think?

Maybe if you have a sunroof, it may be dripping down the Pillars through the dash to the floor...

just a thought.

AC probably. Are you using the AC? I don't know what malfunctions in it to cause this, but I do remember a friend's Pontiac Grand Prix having that problem and having it diagnosed as the AC. We got in it one day, and the whole passenger's side floor was drenched. It was water, too...not coolant. All over the passenger's floor. It was fixed at the dealership, and the problem went away.

If it's not the AC, maybe your car has a leak somewhere? Did it rain before you noticed this? You said it came back after you washed the car...did you wash the engine bay too? Maybe there is some place that is not water-tight and water from the outside is getting inside?
