Fogs up on rainy days

Let see my base S4 side windows and hatch fogs up on rainy days and takes FOREVER to defrost. FOREVER...anyway i can fix this?? lol

You have a leak and water build up inside the car. Look at sunroof, windsheild and hatch seals first, and sunroof and hatch drain lines second.

or a leaky heater core

or try finding the area in the car that is wet first.

pull the carpeting up after a heavy rain and see which area has a leak, leave the carpet out and have a friend water the car down with a garden hose while you crawl around seeing where a stream or drip is coming from.

is your heater set on recirculate? before you tear up the carpet id check that...haha

could even just be a musty ol' girl...

the beater N/A I picked up recently had moist seats and floor (no leaks, just accumulation over time) and in that state it takes a while to evaporate all the moisture and thus stays foggy for a while...

but you may very well have leak also, just throwing out suggestions

Probably would not be misting up the hatch if it was a leaky heater core. Just the front windshield.

Yeah, like matt says, make sure you're taking in air from the outside. Makes a big difference.

Same problem. I dont have heating nor cooling in my car and opening my window while in the rain is'nt fun so I use Rain X Interior Glass Anti-fog, Its a liquid you wipe on the windows and prevent them from fogging. It works great as a fast/temp solution, it may last for several days.

Fyi: my defogs dont work as well.

all depends how humid it is. the fc is not very large and could easily fog up

not wet at all. completely dry, but since in socal rain doesnt come that often i might just have to wait to try something new.

It rains from time to time here in oregon.
Make sure the windows are clean, put the rainx stuff on if you want. Start wiping all the excess moisture off the windows and keep the windows rolled up the problem might go away once you get the moisture out. If it doesnt start checking weather-stripping, and the hatch drains are commonly plugged up too.

quick fix is, if you have a/c....run it. Just set the temp to a heated setting instead of cold. Remember, air conditioning is exactly that, "conditioned air". It will easily take the humidity out of the interior while you are driving. But you should also make sure that the carpet and seats are not wet. Also the rear where the spare tire is. That is a favorite place for water to accumulate.
