Rteck 1.5 in JDM S4 RX-7

I bought a Rteck 1.5 chip and i really really want to work it on my JDM Series 4 Rx-7 . I know the chip supposed to work on only N332 and N333 ECU's. I tried it in my N340 JDM ECU but does not idle and i am hearing a clicking sound from the injectors which are 3ohms. Do i need to get an N333 ECU for it to work?? also what are the differences between JDM and US ECU's?? Help please!!

Rtek ECU chips can only be used on US Spec ECUs.

The harnesses are shaped different on the jspec, since the ecu goes to the other side of the car pin out should be the same but don't quote me on that.

Since you are in trinidad, are you sure it is a Jspec car? I know that some of the RHD rx7s in that area are britspec (?!?!) and have a kind of funky setup.

no all most of our cars are JDM brought in used directly from Japan. I was really looking for a JDM upgraded ECU but its very hard to find for the S4. thanks ppl. I will try to look at another option.

Hmm, because they are not the same?

I know the internal mappings are different between the JDM and the USDM ECUs. Whether that would make much difference I don't know. Nothing that couldn't be fixed with a stage 2 rtek.

turbo2ltr mentioned that any differences could be worked out by the rtek2.1 in ecu mapping.. but would the wiring harness and sensors fit/read the same on a jap long block as they would on the us block? understandably the engine management can accommodate for any differences.. thats its job. but if one were to use preset like 550/720 would there be any differences due to the sensors taking readings from a jdm engine to a usdm ecu? thank you this information is going to prove very helpful for my particular situation!

A jspec engine will run with a US ECU.

I'm using a s4 jspec in my s4 US car. There are only a couple of things being different about the jspec that I can remember. The fuel rails are the other way around and no EGR. All the other sensors plugged into the US harness.

The problem mentioned above is running a US ECU on a jspec car. That I'm not to sure about.

My thinking is you would have to change the Jspec harness to a US engine harness and then you could delete **** and run the RTEK..(but I am guessin..anyone?????)
