Help me decide on next upgrade

I've been thinking for a while and the more I read the more I waver on what to buy. So far I have downpipe (don't know what brand but came with the car), Racing Beat dual tip catback, koyo radiator, AST is gone (never came with the car), K&N filter in stock airbox. Everything else is stock.

I'm definitely getting the apexi power intake next (from i-m-racing.com)

I only have enough extra cash to do one of the following:

Greddy SMIC or PowerFC w/Commander. If I could I'd get both but which should I buy first. I don't plan on getting too far more into performance mods on the current engine other than possibly getting a boost controller but I also don't want to put the engine in any danger. What do you guys think?

Jerome

If I do get a PFC, anyone know of a place within reasonable distance from Charleston to get it tuned?

I'd get the intercooler. I'm not even sure if I'd get that intake either. have you looked at the adam_c mod? search for it.

You don't particularly *need* a standalone engine management system now, but you can benefit from cooler intake temps from a decent intercooler.

Get the PFC. Polished intake tubes. Then save your money to get the SMIC.

What are your plans for the long run??

Sounds like you are short on money and the PFC, tuning, commander can add alot. I would do the ghetto airbox mod, homemade manual boost controller and have fun.

Umm and a boost gauge first and formost.

I'm not really short on money but don't really want to spend it all on the car. It's actually extra cash that I was going to spend a plasma TV or new computer but decided that I don't need either and my car could use something extra. In the long run I plan on getting the engine rebuilt with 3mm apex seals street porting but keep the twins. However it needs to stay as near smog legal as possible as I plan on taking this car with me to california so I don't want to go overboard with it.

I think I'm going with fastrx7r1-rotary. Only because I don't really want outright performance yet and want to do things more for a reliability standpoint right now. No point in getting a PFC and tune, then get the IC and have to tune again. Plus the weather is going to start getting warm and humid real quick here in Charleston so the IC will probably good. Only question is how safe is it to run my mods + intake and IC on the stock ECU. I'm 80% sure it will work fine as long as I watch the boost levels closely.
