"re-align clutch"

part of the description in the fc i purchased included the phrase "re-align clutch"... what do y'all think this would entail??

i read through the regional forums and saw a nice listing for shops around the area, but so hard to just pick one off the list without more details....

Did you get the jug of Blinker fluid Free with the purchase?

The clutch plate has a spline that centers it onto the trans, engine, pressure plate and flywheel when it gets installed,so it "Realigning" it is BS.

The only time it needs to be "aligned" is when it gets installed to properly mate all the components together. This entails a small plastic tool(supplied with the new clutch usually) to make sure that the clutch plate spline will mate onto the trans input shaft when you squeeze the trans to the engine..(other wise the parts don't go together so well.)

I can see Removing,Replacing,Resurfacing,..
Replace the Pilot and throw out bearings if you do the clutch.

You got me curious as to what you bought so If you can pop up the "details of your purchase",that would be great.
I've done like 8 clutches in just the last 3 years..(different cars..buy and sell) So maybe I can help you with this IF you need to replace it.

Way at the bottom he lists a Grip Force Stage 2 clutch kit and aluminum flywheel with a counter-balance. But as Dave mentioned, the only alignment that's done is with a pilot shaft during installation. If it isn't aligned, the transmission won't bolt up...and of course the car doesn't move. Yet he claims the car can be driven anywhere.
Have no guess on what he's talking about. Looks like Grip Force is an Exedy sub-brand of some sort. Exedy Racing Stage 2 Thick Clutch Kit Set 83-91 Mazda Rx-7 1.1L 12A 1.3L 13B N/T
If this is what you've got, IMO it's way more clutch than you'll ever need for a NA street driven car.

I can't get over all the amount of Poop in that ad..I am sorry you got Fished on that IF you bought it.

So,with that said, try to cheer up and Let's have some fun with "Genuine RX7 Ads..":

For sale: Rx7 Car.
It's a nice car..got lots of parts on it,I dunno what the hell they are But I bought em and the car is making this Brappy sound now.
Guys that own a car like this say it's normal But I dunno,I have never heard that sound before.
You TOO can have a Unique sounding car if you want to buy this one as it makes This Brappy sound.Be part of the "in Crowd"..a true Rotory Hed!
It will shoot Fireball out the exhaust.I caught the cat on fire yesterday in the garage and haven't seen it since..I can smell it but can't find it.
It used to have factory paint but I electrically buffed it to another color..now it is grey..( I think they call it primer). It suits the Brappy sound as it makes it look totally old school.
The seats are ripped but the interior is gray and I just used Duck Tape and it matches Perfectly so you won't even notice the tears in the seat.Although the Foam does stick to your *** when you exit the car.
The car is a 4 lug wheel car,but I am using 5 lug wheels.I just drilled holes in the rims to make them fit until I get the 5 lug conversion.I am saving up for that.
The Steel hood has a Scoop on it for Ram air.I used jig saw to cut the hole for the scoop then used a couple rivets and placed the scoop on.It looks real good!
My friends can't quit talking about my car..they are speechless.

If you want this Gem then call me at 555-5555 and ask for Arby...
The New parts make the car Look new even though it was made in 1986 so don't let the year of car scare you as this car is basically new and got old parts around it.

Thanks for reeding my ad..My Dad wants this thing out of his driveway,so any reasonable offer will be cundsidered..

( Spelling is intentional......lol...................STYX!~)

Good luck to ya.
You can now post in the Classifieds by the way,as I see your post count is sufficient to do so.
It's a great place to get parts from guys that know their stuff.
