High Rev at turn over!!!!
I have an 88' vert and when I start it the engine revs to 3+ right away then slowly comes back down. Usually stops between 1,500-2,000. Is this normal? This is my first Rotary and I love this car already. Is two questions to much? My radio turns on but i don't have any sound. Mind you the head rests have been hacked of and I mean hacked. Is there a circuit that is broke since the head rest speakers are gone?

It idles at 1.5k for what seems like quite a while. Then down to 1k. I have had it drop to 800 and lope like a big came MOPAR. I imagine that is not good.

You may want to start looking at some maintenance, like hoses, fuel filter etc.
Get a compression test too. That always is a good thing to know.

I just talked to my mech yesterday and am going to try to get it into him soon. Specialty Motorwerks in West Carrolton, Oh. They are petty good and do alot with Euro imports. I trust him with anyting I drive. I did Sea Foam the engine yesterday and it ran alot better. The car had sat for about four years before I bought it. After Sea Foam treatment it did idle nicely aroune 800-900. I think there is an exhaust leak up front.

The high rev is cold start to it is so the engine warms up before it get to regular idle and the lope is probably a vacuum leak so like that guy said do general up keep check plugs wires compression check the bac and check for vacuum line broken or brittle

Thanks all. A lot of good help indeed. I picked the car up yesterday from my mech and he said the car is in great shape. Told him what I paid for the car and he tells me I stole it, lol. He continues to tell me more about the 13B & that it is a great motor. He said 1st sign of problems is hard to start in cold weather but mine started yesterday morning, -2 out, like its nobody's business. He said I've got a good car.
