Hey guys, Im in need of some help trying to take out the clutch master cylinder in my 1987 rx7 NA.

After searching on the site, I came across one link that showed me how to remove the clutch master and slave cylinders, and as it helped me out getting the slave out, the pictures to remove the master cylinder were different from mine.

In the pictures of the link provided, it stated that there were two 12mm bolts where the clutch pedal were hooked up to the firewall and then to the master cylinder, but when I checked out the bottom of my dash, I could not find these two bolts.

Anyone have any tips on how to remove the Clutch master cylinder?

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated it.

Stuck up in the firewall,The master has studs that go through the firewall and the thing gets bolted inside the cabin.

Ohh ok, well I happened to figure out where the bolts where and I have replaced the clutch master and slave cylinders already. The bolts were really hard to get off the slave lol.

But now, I am currently trying to bleed the system, as I have no pressure on the clutch pedal.

I have read a few topics and threads on the site about the way I should properly bleed it, minus getting a pressure pump and such.

Any tips on bleeding it properly?

I have tried to pump the pedal to build some pressure, then hold it down while releasing the bleeder valve and repeating until there is no air bubbles in the fluid coming out, but I seem to be stuck with trying to get pressure to keep the pedal up.

Everytime I've tried to bleed it, the pedal would still stay down after pressing it in and refuse to come up on its own

Bleeding the clutch can be a real pain, even with 2 people. Best advice I can give is to spend the $8 or so on a speedbleeder. Turns an hour-long swearfest into a 5 minute joy. IIRC, M8x1.0 is the correct size, but some use M7x1.0. I've had both on my car

Thank you guys for the advice, it turns out that someone who was helping me put the new slave cylinder on my car actually pushed the rod out of the slot and so I wasn't getting any pressure..

Just undid the bolts real quick, fitted it back in, and I had my clutch back. w00t!!

Thanks again for the information guys and I shall go back to lurking on the boards with the search options for more things I may need help with while this car is under my tender care.
