laptop wont display?
i have had this problem with 2 different computers(laptop). When I go to the main page it wont display like it supposed to. Between words theres funky blurry figures. I do have one laptop that works right but its about to kick the bucket(it was droped awhile back). Is there something wrong with the software? I used the disk that came with it and everthing, it just wont work on certain computers. Is there a way I copy the main page and post so i can show yuo guys what the deal is?

I have the same problem.
Haltech displayed fine on my crummy old Gateway w/ Celluron, but has the graphics problem you indicated when installed on my crummy old (but better) Compaq Armada M700.
I tried messing w/ settings and booting to DOS "safe mode" and it doesn't help. And the Bios is so limited on the Compaq I can't play around w/ anything there (underclocking, etc.)
A friend that plays old DOS games has told me the programs have some compatibility problem w/ the faster processor speeds; he opens up a huge program to slow the processor and then opens the DOS program in a shell.
I haven't bothered trying this as the Haltech worked "off line" fine, but could not go "online" when in a DOS shell environment.
I think I will buy a $30 486 laptop! (or go scrounging dumpsters for one

Haltech program is an old DOS program and suffer from all the old DOS problems. modern computers are not very DOS compatible. Haltech program does not seem to work well with XP either. the older the OS and slower the computer the better.

i got a link from vosko today on the email list for compaq software for the e6k. it will take care of the blurs... it did not help the problem i was having unfortunatly. i will try to find it but i think i ereased it.
the subject of email on the list (for searching) was:
"cant use e6k after use of F9"

Xp has DOS simulator, which apparantly isn't the same as the original. Anyway, it just won't work, so you have to load DOS without it running on some other program. I just bought an old computer and got it to work, but anything with a newer port doesn't seem to cut it.
