damn car won't stay running

ok i just did a bunch of stuff on my 88 t2. removed all the emissions stuff, new injectors and o-rings, new fuel lines, TID, TB mod. now the car wo n't stay running. it will start up (but turns over for a while first and i have to floor the gas pedal). when i do that it will rev to 5k then cut out like it's not getting fuel. no matter how much i rev the throttle it won't stay running. the injectors i put in were low impedence (it's all i could find) so i put the resistors in with them. when im just normally cranking it doens't really feel like im getting fuel pressure at the lines. i jumpered the fuel pump relay and i can hear the fuel flowing, hear the pump pumping and i can feel pressure when i squeeze the line. right now my battery is dead so im going to have to mess with it tommorow. anyone got any ideas on anyhitng else to try?

reconnect your AFM Thats what it sounds like anyway. That or a major vacuum leak.

Huge air leak? Small vac hose won't do what you describe, but if you forgot to reconnect the brake booster vac line at the back of the throttle body, that would cause the described problem.

But then again you did several things. The TID???? and the throttle body mod are other good areas to look at. Open hole somewhere etc.

brake booster line is hooked up. TID is 2 pvc elbows and i know there not leaking. the throttle body isn't leaking either. it seems to be more of a fuel problem than a vacum leak. im going to double check everyhting tommorow

Well, while someone is cranking the car, gently (and slowly) press the AFM in, if it starts and will idle as you hold it in, it's a vac leak. (meaning the flapper door on a s4 or the slider on a s5, have to take off the filter for this obviously)

Yes, as if air was moving in, just open it up slowly and see if you can get the car to start.

i had this problem with my brothers n/a, we didn't have a filter so we used a rag and some zip tie, and soon we couldn't start it and **** u describe but we had a whole lot of smoke, then we found out that the rag is stuck inside the manifold, so make sure u didn't get something stuck between the air filter and throttlebody/ manifold when u did a TID.

and did you do the TB mod correctly? double check the secondary throttle shaft hole if its filled in correctly.

if fuel is coming in and u think ur not getting any, check the filter.

Again I asked did you try to get it to stay running by holding the flapper door open? Just have someone crank it over and gently press the flapper door open slowly and see if you can get it to start, and if it does start push it in a little bit more and see if you can get it to stay running, if it does stay running you'll notice if you push too far or too little it'll run for ****, but give it a try.

ok one last question (i hope) what is the thing that attaches to the throttlebody that goes down by the turbo it. when the throttle plates open it moves the rod that opens or closes somehting down near the turbo. it attaches to the front of the trottle body with a cotter pin.
