Question What kind of car would you guys buy to replace your FD? Within reason...

I doubt that I will ever sell my FD. But, since my motor is going south, it's got me wondering what other car can I buy that would be as satisfying to own/drive?

WRX STi.

For the amount of money that I've put in and will put in the next year, I'll essentially have bought an STi. And after all that's said and done, I won't need my tire trailer and I'll be able to tote more than one person around .... dammit.

you know this is actually a really good question...

I personally do not have an FD, but i've been here for over a year now and i am finally looking into purchasing... as soon as i finalize a deal on my car, i can start making real offers... however, recently i have been considering getting something else. my two closest friends in this area both have FDs and are both active members on the forum... since i met them in september i have learned 10 times the amount of info i knew before about these cars and have gotten to see what they are like to own and drive everyday. i'm glad to see that it is what i expected, but when i think about it, i will be pretty busy once college lets out, and an FD might not be the best option for me... i have been trying to think of an acceptable replacement project, but that is a difficult task. the ONLY car that would be able to sway me from getting an FD would be an IS300 with a 2JZ Twin Turbo swap... I saw a car like this at the last show i was at and it just floored me. the ease of the swap and then being able to have 4 doors, luxury, speed, good looks, and a 2-3 year old car as opposed to a 10 year old car really got my mind thinking... however, i really don't see myself doing that either, i have grown to love the FDs way too much in the past months, and I need to have one... I don't think i will be complete without it

S2000.

Sorry to say it. I think the S2000 looks great, and I drove it, so I can say handling wise feels comparable (of course the FD does outhandle, out brake it). Acceleration feels different obviously.

The reason I say S2000 is because the Z's and supra's are too heavy. Even the 350Z is approaching pig status. The S2000 is the only car that would be as much fun in everyday driving.

I only say S2000 because nothing else is as light or looks as good (besides the 7), IMO.

Well, if I was to sacrifice the fd for another vehicle I would definatly look into the Nsx, Viper, or even the Mazdaspeed Protege.

Hmmm, well a 03 Z06 wouldnt be bad for style and handling. However if I was just about raw neck snaping power and HAD to have something other than a RX7....that I could actually afford it would probably be a 2003 Cobra. Yea I know its a Stang, but you can make huge power for a very small amount of money.

Same here. I would go for the new STi's coming out. My other ride would be the NSX...but that's not reasonable is it? Hahahha Oh yeah, the 91-95 MR2's are killer too!

I would only give up my FD for a nice GTR or Evo 7! Nothing in the states under the 40k range is even worth it.

If we are looking at thing reasonable then I would either get a 69 Camaro SS/RS or a 77 Trans Am Smokey and the Bandit edition

I've posed this question to myself a hundred times.

The answer I come up with is an Enzo Ferrarri.

Unfortunately I am about $900K short........how about a new M3 vert? Yeah baby..........it's UGLY but does haul ***........

NAH>>>>>>I'll keep the FD3S, everybody drives Bimmers these days!

This is a question I have pondered many times, especially before I got my last rebuild, but came up with no answers.

Corvette Z06 or a Viper (old/early style, i hate the new ones with the straight cut front fenders)

as for the wrx, why not a Lancer EVO8?

BTW: a Mazdaspeed Protege???

I don't get the Evo. Yeah, I know it's the bomb rally car and comes with a big front mount , but god it is ugly. Seriously, it is. Looks just like the regular Lancer with a big (also ugly) wing, smallish-looking wheels, and those god-forsaken taillights. I guess people think it is good looking because of how fast it is/can be???

I just don't get it

To answer the thread, I've always wanted an E30 M3 or MK3 VR6-car
