Boxman....agreed. Already has updated springs and sway bars. I have researched Billy's respeed R&P and without an engine choice yet he has assured me the kit will be okay for my engine choices. Great addition to strengthen the weak front subframe due to cutting off the top !!!!
OK, on the rims, I also thought they were the ugliest things going but they look so retro they grow on me. I already started polishing the rims and they are in great shape. This car was shown at car shows with a black centered rim because Mariah thought the wheels were so ugly, as well. Geeh, my tire guy will freek when I order peformance 14" tires, tee hee. He is going to measure the wheel offset and thinks I should roll with an updated 17" rim as well as keep the original ones on standby for originality.

No word on the motor. Not legal for smog in california...non registered for 21 years!!!!!!

Very sweet car, you scored a great one. As far as the wheels, keep polishing or have them done professionally, it will make a big difference. If you do upgrade to larger ones, 15" is my preference. I have two different sets, Epsilons, and SSRs, both are 15". 17", imho, are way to big. By the time you get a tire profile, probably 30-35, to keep the speedo somewhat close, the car will look like a toy car with the tire/wheel combo.

I'm running anywhere from 7-10" wide rims between the 2 sets. With 245/50/15s on the rear, my speedo reads 8-11% off. i.e., I was stopped doing 87 while was holding the speedo at 78.

Personally, I would keep the car as stock as possible, both mechaically and appearance wise. I can, however, understand the need for smogablility and with Steve's help, an S5 engine is a great choice.

Have fun with the project and keep us updated with lots of pics.

i agree with Trochoid. i'd keep it as close to original as possible in appearance, but mechanically, i'd have no qualms about upgrading to the 13B-T setup. i think the key for pulling it off though is meticulous attention to detail. definitely post as you progress.

Cliff,

I'm glad to see that you finally posted up a thread on your PA. I have that car on video from SevenStock '06 tuning day at the shop where it used to reside. It's great that it went to a good home!! If it ends up half as nice as that classic Vette you're selling then it will be one incredible car. I've subscribed to this thread so I can keep up to date with things.

Later this week we will get a stock motor running and head to smog and registration. I made a promise to the old owner to register the car , otherwise he might have sold it for more money.

Holy frigging cow man. I relize we all love are fb's But that vette is far superior in every way including dollar value. Is that thing rocking a 327 tri power or what? WOuld have been sweet if it was a 58 But damn dude what are you asking for that baby 20grand?

What size motor man. 327 or what? jumping from a fb to a f body Do your self a favor and get a 97 so you can have the ls1. I had a lt1 94 and i was not happy with it at all.

Thanks, Jeezus, I got an unsolicited offer for $62K last week, let's see if the guy follows thru. I am being lazy trying to sell it as I am really busy at work right now. I promised Zach I would get it listed if he needed to move his PA for sure - which I hope doesn't happen.

I have done a bunch of cars and the thrill is in the process and experiencing new cars.
It is more difficult since i got married 7 years ago. I have done a 66 230Sl mercedes. a 57 porsche speedster replica (too small) and a bunch of other cars.

327 motor built to about 375HP. No smog. That is why I wanted the 3 rotor 20b for the ultima. I am a little wierded out about a turbo s5 as i drove a 94 FD and found the sequential turbos pretty smooth and hope the s5 powerband is as smooth. I am sure the 20b is like silk.

I'm not surprised at the offer you received for your Vette Cliff. I figured the listing price for it would've been around $60-65Kish. A '94 Cosmo huh? Let me know if you decide you want to do that as some of my friends in Australia should be able to source one for your pretty easily.

Zach, you are killing me...cosmo.....yes, I am researching models, options, RH drive, etc between work flurries. Also, a friend of mine imports JDM stuff into vancouver, my home town. I will start a thread asking for input after Xmas, however, I will limit this to research only until the money tree grows back, in the back yard, or the vette money comes.
