Finally Starting A Build Log Halfway Through My Build
Well after owning my FD for quite sometime I've finally gotten to the point where I realized I should have started a build log quite some time ago... So here it goes!
November 26, 1012:
I picked up my car from a boy in Ashville, NC and fearlessly made the 6hr drive back home. Honestly I don't know what I was thinking buying & driving a rotary that distance untested but it did it. The car all around was in fair shape, the previous owner seemed to lack knowledge of the car so I was on my own. There were no wheels included with the car, I fitted it with my own Enkei RPF1's in 18x10.5/9.5 +15
For quite sometime it was my reliable daily driver. I took care of the maintenance that the car had not been given. Repaired nearly all the imperfections of the interior and the mess that we call an engine bay.
Megan Track coilovers
Koyo radiator
FC thermoswitch
Apexi Power FC
B&M shifter
Greddy style intercooler
No-Name downpipe
Apexi Noir exhaust
Pillowballs replaced
Banzai diff brace
Greddy pulleys
Pineapple Racing OMP delete
January 24, 2013:
Purchased a R1 front lip from a friend of mine, fit the car nicely.
Lined up at a local meet with a few of my friends (left to right): LS1 swapped FD, myself, LS2 swapped Miata, 16g turbo & Goodwin supercharged Miata.
Some of the nicer pictures of my car at a local track event:
By this time I wasn't just satisfied with the stock sequential setup anymore and the rats nest underneath the manifold needed some attention. I located a crack in the wastegate housing along with other nightmares and that's when a friend of mine deemed this to be the day the car never ran again.

The car has not ran since this day, I have been cursed!
While repairing the rats nest I thought to myself "lets just delete all this", I also had that thought as I removed the factory twins. I continuously had this thought as I dug further & further into the car. I realized the paint imperfections were really getting to me, so I would take care of that aswell. At some point I completely decided to remove the entire drivetrain and do a full facelift of the car.
As time went on I ran more & more out of motivation, money & time to work on the car. I ended up moving back to Charleston, SC and of course the car came along with me!
August 9, 2013:
All moved back into it's new garage and I finally get the urge to begin working on the car again. Engine is cleaned, simplified, big turbo added, lots of goodies installed, body work near completed.
Body wise I've changed a good bit on the car, not to mention most of the goodies haven't even been unwrapped yet.
99 Spec plateless front bumper
99 Spec lip
OEM Spirit R sideskirts
Mirrors shaved
Antenna shaved
Rear wiper nozzle shaved
Shine Auto spoiler
Shine Auto street rear diffuser
Shine Auto bellypan
OEM mudguards
The wheels on the car were just for roll around purposes and have been sold.
Once again the motivation was lost, the car sat on the side of the shop while I worked on my other projects.
February 15, 2014:
I finally got off my ***, ordered everything needed to get the car running and the new turbo setup finished. Installed everything and sent the car off to Rotorsports Racing in North Carolina for a final look over and tuning.
Rywire engine harness
Turbo oil lines
1600cc injectors
Aftermarket fuel rail
Aeromotive fpr
Greddy compression tube
Tial 50mm blow off valve
Tial 48mm wastegate
No-name turbo manifold
60trim turbo

I recieved a call today from Rotorsports Racing that the car indeed does run and they're currently ironing out all the details. Just sent in the last few small items needed to have it up 100% and I couldn't be more happy! I've been since collecting parts like crazy upon arrival of the car running in tip-top shape! Just to share a few things that I have waiting:
Enkei PF01evo 18x10.5/9.5 +12
Stoptech BBK
Project Mu lugnuts
$$$ to have the car painted as soon as it arrives.
Along with a box full of goodies ready to go on!
I'll now be doing my best to better photograph and update this build log. Your encouragements are well, encouraged

I'll have more pictures & video up once the car gets back from tuning and gets sent away to paint. I was hoping to have it all done intime for Formula D/Global Time Attack next weekend but that won't happen.

Ended up having to purchase ANOTHER Power FC since my second one was damaged in shipping. On the plus side I was basically guaranteeing myself that it'll function correctly and it came with the OLED commander. If you haven't used the OLED commander it's a night & day difference from the older styles. Anyways, I now have the car back. Made the 4hr drive back home excellent and has been running great since. Been bolting up my goodies to it, cleaning it, tinkering & waiting till the 22nd when I can drop the car off for paint. I totally forgot to take pictures the other day, but here's a few before/after pictures from the brakes & wheels install.

Looks like hell, but not for much longer. Snapped these quick pictures before I started tearing it back down & dropping it off to be painted. Only thing being added are factory rear mudflaps and Spirit R sideskirts. See you next month!
And here's a bay shot since I don't have an up to date one.

Couple quick snaps from Express Paint Systems on the progress of my car. I'm expecting the car back this weekend intime for a local car show.
I have a set of OEM Spirit R sideskirts (foam, flexy plastic) that I was going to use but my painter is skeptical of the paint cracking on them. So I'm now searching for a fiberglass set...Trades anyone?

On a side note these Falken tires are amazing compared to my previous sets of Nankangs & Dunlops. Very little road noise & excellent grip.

Car looks great! Having a MB FD myself I know these pictures don't do your car any justice lol, MB is probably one of the best looking colors in person. Hope to see some more pictures.

Don't forget to flush your hydraulic systems!
On a more positive note I've ordered a slew of goodies to keep the car moving in the right direction.
Comp Clutch stage 4 ceramic clutch kit
Comp Clutch 9.68lb flywheel
Techna-Fit stainless clutch line
StopTech Power Slot rear rotors
StopTech Performance rear brake pads
Battle Version rear toe rods
