Finally Starting A Build Log Halfway Through My Build
#27
Finally got around to replacing the rear rotors & pads. They've been damn near metal to metal since I purchased the car over a year ago. Once again, more StopTech goodies to match the BBK up front.
I had a buddy of mine build a "blast pipe" that will bolt-up to my existing Apexi midpipe. Previously I was running the Apexi noir exhaust and I'm not sure if any of you have heard it, but you can't... It's quiet, nice, not offending.
Which is nice, but sometimes I feel the need to wakeup the neighborhood & shoot fire. So he fabbed this up and turned out looking amazing. Sad part is that it's too DAMN LOUD! I've owned straight piped, turbo cars in the past and they sound amazing. I guess it's just another thing different about these rotary engines.
So the Apexi noir is back on, debating on having an inline muffler welded into the other pipe just to tame it down a bit.

On another note, I mocked up my Bubble Tech 99 spec canards.
I think they're a great looking piece, but don't think they're right for my car. Very aggressive styling does not pair too well with my simple/clean build. I'm gonna hold onto them for another project I think, or till I decide to make my car look like it's been around Tsukuba a few times.
Excellent quality and attention to detail though, expect nothing but greatness from Bubble Tech!
Here's a few more pictures since there's not too many floating around just yet.

I agree I think the canards look great!
On the exhaust hahaha yeah I was about to order a straight pipe from Buddy Club I think its the spec II, anyway the rep asked me what car it was going on and said yeah I'm not sure you want this lol its pretty damn loud even with a silencer.
Either way it looks pretty awesome lol and car looks great!

This morning I dropped my car off at Palmetto Racing Development to have the new Competition Clutch & flywheel installed along with the Tekna-Fit stainless clutch line. I could have done the job myself, but honestly with this heat/humidity I don't feel bad giving a local shop a few hundred to take care of it for me. Here's pictures of my clutch that they sent me, clearly the new T70 wasn't getting along well with my existing ACT setup that has been in there for who knows how long.
Plus it's good to give newer shops a try, never a shortage of local performance shops you can trust!

Finally got around to installing my Whiteline diff bushings today. The driveline feels a good bit stiffer, however I still have a "clunk" in the rear when I shift. Pillowballs in the RLCA's have been replaced already, guess it's time to dig around a bit more. Also tossed in a new fuel filter since it was so easy to do with the differential lowered.

Yesterday I entered my first car show. It was the Southern Drag Racing Association's 30th anniversary show benefiting the Special Olympics.
Oddly enough I won "Best Engine" in the import class. Very ironic being I'm the only rotary and their outstanding record of being reliable haha.

Has anyone else started a Facebook page to keep track of their builds? I started a page for my FD this afternoon. Please give it a "like" and help keep my motivated throughout my build.
