Where to find a Tuner?

I have a 94 with all bolt ons and PFC.

It was tuned to 11 psi by previous owner. I want to turn up the boost to 14psi-15psi and max out the stock injectors and map sensor. I don't know if it was tuned past 11psi.

Im in Tampa FL who are you guys using as your tuner? Years ago we flew in steve kan for a group session.
I don't feel that its worth it for this type of simple tune on a bolt on car to fly someone out. Hoping there's someone local that is skilled. Thanks

i can also do tunes but would need you to locate a local dyno near you.

however i don't know why you want to run your car to the ragged edge, i won't be responsible if any tiny hiccups occur while stressing it to the limit as you likely are aware. sure i have run DC over 90% but i don't exactly recommend it..

Lol definitely know of Cam. He's a great guy, a little far from me but I was thinking I'll end up there.

Well I will have to check what the injector duty cycle is at currently at 11psi. I'd like to leave a little room for safety I'd say 90% max is fair too, to leave some margin for cooler weather and altitude changes.

I'd like to be able to tune to 14-15psi, this seems like a level where the twins can last for a good while if not beat on and it's a ton of fun. Also it's just about the point of max boost on 93 octane and the stock map sensor.

Put it like this, I could upgrade the secondaries to 1200 and the map sensor to a 3 bar, but I wouldn't want to run any more boost than what 16 on 93 pump gas to be safe? So what's the point in upgrading injectors and map sensor for 1 psi additional that is bad for the turbos and riskier on pump gas. 14psi may be the sweet spot where injectors are at 90% and I'm safely maxing all systems of the car and gaining probably 40rwhp over the 11psi currently.

Unless someone tells me otherwise, anyone running higher boost on pump gas without meth injection or huge reduction on timing?
What I remember is that stock twins blow hot air after 15psi any way.

no you're correct that 14-15psi is about where you will usually see the twins start to fall on their face. i merely mentioned that it is stressing the fuel system a bit and depends on how much safety margin you actually want to retain.

Maybe you're right, I'll get a set of 1200 secondaries and a 3 bar map sensor. That way in case the twins are doing well at 15psi I can try to even go a little higher and not stress the fuel system.

What is the highest suggested psi on pump gas with stock twins?

By the way the motor is streetported by pettit and has 3mm seals. The twins were also rebuilt, but I dont know if they were modified in any way, got to find that out perhaps they are upgraded. I remember a guy here 10 years ago running in the 10s on the stock twins in the mid 120s trap, think he ran them at 20psi or so.

I don't like where this is headed, hopefully the inj. duty cycle is currently in the 60s or low 70s and I can just not tinker with anything else.

If I start doing all those other mods I'll be prepared for a single turbo conversion and that gets expensive quick. I want to try to enjoy the stock twins, it's such a joy driving a sequential car with 125rwhp more than stock! A single turbo will just lead me to want to go for a 200mph top speed run on the highway hahaha and I'll end up like a love bug on a windshield.

i don't necessarily pick a boost level, it is more about a power level depending on your mods. 300whp is where you will generally be stressing the fuel system to unsafe margins. on pump gas 93 it is possible to push in the 18-20psi range, well beyond the turbo's limits.

a fuel pump rewire for 12v+ is a good starting point, that is where i generally see a lot of problems crop up from the old wiring and relays.

really I always thought 16psi was a good max safe level on pump gas for a rotary, even supra guys stop at 18psi max on pump gas, a little higher because their stock computer can pull timing when it sees detonation and motor wouldnt blow any way with a little detonation.

I would be much more concerned with running 18-20psi on 93 octane on a rotary than hitting 95% duty cycles, from my knowledge, But I'm not a guru.

I will take a look at the duty cycles this weekend. I think the direct wiring to battery is a good idea as well and will consider all of these safety measures. There's no point in paying for the tuning and all of the extra parts if I'm not going to get a considerable power increase so I have to think about this.

By the way where are you located and how much do you charge for tuning? Would you consider just a street tune on private roads without dyno time?

16psi is a safe level on pump premium, you wont get any benefit from running the stock twins even likely up to that boost level. usually the turbos peak around 14-15psi.

Roger At Pros Tuning in Riviera Beach did an excellent job tuning my car. I have a Power FC as well and he is very familiar with this computer
