vacuum solenoids - interchangeable?
I broke one but since some solenoids are plugged and not in use, can I interchange these?

I believe you can--I have, and it's worked ok. The only difference I've found is the external configuration.

Yes, you can. Note that the filter basket can be pulled off and moved around too.
