Hello ,

I have just become the proud owner of a beautiful third gen Rx7

I have some ideas of what he is going to become , and some parts on order etc but i am unsure about rims.

I have had on my last ride 19" rims but that was more for show, with my Rx7 i want nice looking ones that dont weigh a tonne and dont affect the handling but they have to look good, does anyone have any suggestions

real volks look real good. they are mind-numbingly light also even in 18

but if i get the 18" (because i am a typical girl and will automatically go for as big and shiny as possible!) does it affect the handling much though ? I dont want to compromise performance for styling on this one

not cheap but forged cool and very light. they have a lot of other styles and tons that fit the fd in 16,17,18,19

That pic you posted is of volk LE37Ts. They're basically a TE37 with a polished lip. Weigh a bit more.

A set of 18" TE-37s would be nice, but you really wont be compromising much no matter what you put on it as long as its a decent wheel. 18"s will not effect your handling for the worse, many people use 18"s for their race wheel and tire sets as it has a shorter sidewall to prevent the tire sidewalls from rolling.

19" wheels will not effect your handling. They are slower geting you off the line, if your into racing. IMO i pefer looks than have a all out racer. Get what ever rims you can afford that you like and don't worry about making it a 10 sec 1/4 mile car. The car alone will be faster than 98 pecent of the cars out there. I have 19" and love them. I have a few mods to raise my HP to compromise my chrome 19. But aww factor is definately there. For one i don't have wheel hop anymore, which is bad for drive line parts and slows you down. Now all i have is a chirp in first and second, no more loosing grip. So IMO it's faster than having my stock rims or my 18". My 19 only weigh 21 lbs stock rims weigh like 16 or something. Just Add more horsepower if your worried if it's gonna slow you down.

I'm with the others, Volks if you have the $, RX7store.net is having a sale on TE37s right now I think. There are some other options as well, among the HRE, Blitz, RE Amimiya (sp?), Enkei, SSR, BBS, Mille Miglia, O.Z., Speedline, and probably some others that I can't think of. You can look under the wheels, tires and suspension forum for more info, and Tirerack.com has some wheels and a program where you can see them on an FD to help out. Good luck and welcome.
