New to the Rx-7

Ive been reading through the faq and everything but havent found this bit of info. i found a 94 all stock rx7 with 74k on it. does there tend to be turbo failure around this time? i notcie alot of the rx7's around have rebuilt or new motors, i want to buy a relativley reliable car and do a few basic bolt on, turboback, intake, front mount. any help would be appericated.

All depends on how well-kept the car was, so its all on the previous owner/s. 74k, I think is fine, normally, if it has had regular oil changes and not shot with nos or anything, haha. start to worry around 130k,. also remember the car is getting older now, so weather might have affected parts. things start to rust, hoses can harden and crack, etc. Pretty much think of it as any other high mileage car.

Could be as simple as a small boost leak. Check the hoses for cracks as mrjohnnnys suggested. There are plenty of other things to check as well.

Probably a search for turbo failure might produce some results or other things to check for. Good luck!

The turbos go anywhere from 50k to 150k, but usually outlast the motor.

Yep, rebuilt motors are common. Just get them tested and evaluated like any other FD and you'll be fine.

Sounds like a good deal to me, the car looks good from the pics. 74K on the turbos is not bad at all.
The paint color is actually called Montego Blue Mica, if it matters a whit.
