need help, starting problem

alright guys im still having problems with my rx7. i got a new starter and a brand new redtop battery and tried starting my car again....but doesnt crank over. nothing at all....it just clicks. i also tried connecting the battery directly to the starter but still not starting without getting tapped. any suggestions on what i should try changing or what i should do?? need to get my rx7 getting started asap. thanks guys.

yeah, i checked all the fuses....they are all good. but when i tap the starter....it starts up, idk what could be the problem.

try looking for a snapped wire / connection

Sounds like the starter solenoid.

was the starter you installed new or used?
if you have to tap on it to start is then its is bad
also check the resistance in the wire form the starter to the battery.

you could of got a bad rebuilt starter....its happened to me, rare but it happens...
like everyone else said if you have to tap on it , its bad...

also check the wires going to the starter, make sure there not corroded...
get a test light and check wires going to and from ...

Then it sounds like a defect starter or an error in the installation.

Check wires for loose connections.

What about your ignition switch - behind the key - not usually a problem in the fd but have seen in other cars

well that was kinda an option...but i wanted to make sure it wasnt anything else before i spent money on a ignition switch ya know?

well first off im gonna change some of the ground wires cause that may be the problem....then im gonna change out the ignition switch and then change out the starter....AGAIN! any other things i should try checking or changing before i start spending my money???
