Loose plug under centre console?

Anyone know what this is for? Can't seem to find a home for it. 94 r2 rhd

I believe that is the light that is there for the ash tray. I believe the red/green wire is the wire that is fed to the dimmer.. don't quote me on that. Don't have the prints on me at the moment.

there is nowhere near the ashtray for it to go lol

Look at the two wires and it's colors. Look in the electrical schematics In the dimmer console area to see if it is a wire which is dimmed then you know it's just a light. If not I could be a switch for an option our earlier cars didn't have. My car only had rear defrost switch.. all others were blanks

Yep, I think it's the ashtray light. There's normally a bulb that screws into the bottom of the ashtray that goes to that. The bulb may have been removed.

That connect right behind the e-brake , it's the ground for it .

Edit : look at the picture too fast , it's the ashtray light connector

Edit 2 : haha should of read the thread completetly , your missing the other end of the connector , that has the light and connects to the ashtray

as everyone else is saying, its for the light that goes into your ashtray and as 7krayziboi mentioned, youre missing the other end of the plug.
