Incredibly Quiet

A couple of days/weeks ago, I removed the plastic bulkhead and fibreglass storage area from inside my hatch so that I could transport something. I just today got around to reinstalling them.

I am amazed at how much quieter the car is. I hear less tire, suspension, and differential noise now.

If you do not have these peices, I would suggest you find them if you would like a quieter car.

You mean it is quieter due to the fact there is a couple less pieces of hardware to bang and bounce around?

Yeah, I could see that. I never cease to be amazed when I get in the FD and drive it after a long period of driving my other vehicles. My street is really rough, and the stiff suspension of the FD just exacerbates EVERY little dip and pothole, and you are just treated to a veritable cacophony of sounds....lol!

I feel like I've stepped into a concert hall when I drive the Volvo, by comparison.

Actually, what I was saying was if you do not have the plastic bulkhead that separates the hatch area from the driver compartment, and you do not have the inside hatch cover, then you might want to go get them because they make the car a little quieter by muffling some of the rear suspension, tire, and exhaust noises.
