New engine Won't start.. need help URGENT
Just had the new Block installed... I tried starting it but it did not.. so i had the mechanic do a compression test... it came to around 350 somthing he said normally it should be 1200 ... then we took the same gauge and checked another car (Honda) the guage showed 1200....
Can it be that the new engine has bad compression?? or what else could it be... its a rebuild street ported engine...
Need help Urgent

What are your compression numbers for all 6 chambers? Are they all even or is one 350 and one 1200?
Who built your motor? Who did the street porting? Did the same company do both?
It is conceivable that who ever built your engine didn't do it right and/or didn't replace key expendable components within the engine.
This has happened before here in the US with companies that offer rebuilt ported motors.
If the compression is low I would contact the company who you got the engine from and tell them.

Time to pull the donkey cart out of retirement.

Have any of you guys ever been to the Pakistan, a third may be even 4th world?
It's nothing like here. They have pisswater for gasoline, grease monkeys instead of mechanics and things are so ghetto rigged you'd **** a brick seeing how things are chickenwired together.
For somebody to get an rx7 in pakistan means they are either a fool or a very rich and foolish guy. Regardless most of the cars are smuggled in from China anyway. How this guy got an RX7 to Pakistan is amazing.

I checked only two and they were both the same at less than 60 psi but ppl are telling me that i need to crank the motor a little and then compression will build up... Is this correct? Also the manual i got from the tuner in japan says that my front rotor had 7 compression and the rear rotor had 9 when they tested it in japan at 200/250 rpms but over here it is much less... Can it be that they have lied? or does the engine need some lubrication time?? I have the tests they sent me..
[QUOTE]For shame good sir.

Sounds as if they sent you a used motor and tried to pass it off as a newly rebuilt one, or they didn't build it right in the first place. Either way something isn't right and it sounds like their mistake.
I am sorry to tell you but you are going to have to contact your engine builder and try to get the situation resolved. Good luck.

ok it did start... Now it is starting ok... I did not keep it on for long waiting on my usual mechanic.... It seems fine now... There was white smoke though for 3-4 mins and then some black... noting unusual... It seems ok now... I will start it properly after the weekend and then check the compression again...
Thanks for all your help guys... I got really worried... I hope this means its all fine.. i still have to put in the intercooler and the elbow and stuff

Most of the cars are smuggled in by paying bribes to the military. Nothing gets by the military. Hard to describe the country.
Yeah, you're right they have Ferraris, Lambos and other exotic cars but their origins are shady ... roads are fit for donkey carts and scooters ... go anywhere far from the city, you need military escort or hired gunmen.
Yes, like any well armed gangster, pakistan has nuclear weapons.

............Well unfortunately there is not enough bandwidth on the face of the earth to describe the shortcomings of this counry(USA).....On another note, Glad you got the car running. Some smoke after initial start-up of a rebuild will smoke some. It is usually just assembly lube burning off the internals. Compression should come up during the break-in period. Just don't boost or rev hard until after that period. Then check the compression again for comparison.Way to represent the 7 in Pakistan!!!

Go away if you don't have any usefull info to contribute!!...... If it is doing alright on the stock ECU then just leave it for the break-in period. Then install/or have installed the PFC. Then of course comes the fun , long, and patient task of tuning the PFC. Don't trust any maps that are sent on them or by others for the fine adjustments needed for each individual engine. Needs to be done by someone who knows how to already, or by someone willing to take extra care not to blow their engine.( Changes in very small amounts to the PFC) Do you have experience on the PFC? Wideband O2 sensor.( needed for tuning) Glad everything seems to be OK.
