Aluminum Flywheel Friction Plates

Are they all the same? More specifically are they interchangeable (i.e. Can you use a Racing Beat plate on say an SRMotorsports Flywheel)?

Thanks.

Just my 2 cents

I had an IndigloSpeed flywheel and I was told I could use the same one that SR
uses. FYI you can't. The plates are two totally different sizes. Get ahold of
the company that you bought the flywheel from or do what I did and just make your own. The type of metal you should use is 4130-4140 Chromlloy if you decide to make it yourself. Or you can go to any machine shop to get it done. Its will most likely either way be alot cheapier, it only cost me $23 to buy the metal, I did the machining(sp?) myself. So it might be a little more that that but Good luck!

Not to steal the thread, but how often should they be changed? With a new clutch or do they last longer?

When you replace the clutch check for wear. If there alot of wear replace or resurface. Either
way you can resurface if needed.

Thanks for the info Racer. I might look into machining one. I have access to a machine shop with a pretty good crew; I should be able to get it done cheaply. Certainly less than the $150 I was quoted by SRMotorsports.
