using MSD 6A's

can the V4 or V4+ use MSD 6a's, or do you have to do a special setup to use them?

i have 4 MSD Blaster SS Coils, and was goign to run 4 MSD 6A's.

Hey Kev
You wont need 4 MSD 6a...only two and run the leading as std spark setup as they only contribute %15 of power. It works fine with MSD 6A. Email MSD tech support and they will email you a diagrame or they may even have one on their site.

incorrect.

you will either need 1 (what i would recommend) or 3.

the reason is the leading plugs take one, since they fire together in a waste spark setup.

The trailing plugs however, are independent. you need one msd 6a for each.

I run Wolf -> FD igniter -> 1 msd 6a(to leading coil) and the fd igniter straight to the trailing coils.

nyt,

well i meant to type 3 MSD 6A's , sorry the mess up lol.

What would i need other then the Wolf 3d v4, 3 MSD 6a's, and my 4 MSD Blaster SS Coils? I would still need some type of ignitor? If so how many do you think? 3, one for each MSD?

kevin.

you can also run a dis-2 box for the trailing, so you would only have to run two boxes.

Speaking from experience, the MSD6A will work fine with the mazda ignitor--using the white lead as a trigger. And you can drive the Mazda ignitor with any ECU you want. (In some instances, you can drive the MSD directly from an ECU, but it really doesn't matter.)

IMO, the 6A is benificial, but only necessary on the leading plugs.

Yea see i was hoping that the Wolf 3d could drive the MSD's without needing an ignitor.

Well ill have to look into the FD ignitors, might also try the AEM C2DI box alone as i believe it doesnt need an ignitor.

thanks guys.

Sorry but it is correct for maximum benifit of CDI.
wasted spark set up. Leading ign signal from wolf fires both MSD's at the same time for wasted spark on leading. Trailing is std factory. Why waste money on CDI trailing ign when it gives so little in power. Use it on Leading
Using one MSD on trailing wasted spark halves your spark energy.

... youre confused... theres no waste spark on trailing, the waste spark is on the leading. most of the power is generated from the leading, and i said, to use it on the leading only. you only need one msd for this.
