If it was retarded I would look at adding fuel before you run don't go leaner than 10.5 @20psi very carefully check your actual timing by using a zeroing map to prove your CAS is set correctly. I hope it goes well looking forward to your figures.

yeah, thats how i got it set, i started the car and let it warm up then turned off all my modifiers and then set my split to 0 and then turned my whole map to 0 and then found the imput 1 number.... sound right? george, your number should be close to mine which is exactly 42.5 so check your map because last i heard your imput 1 was at 60 which is 17-18 degrees retarded...... make a zero degree mark on your timing wheel like i did so you dont have to mess with that 20 degree mark and all these wierd -5 degree with -15 split maps and stuff......

michael:
below is my load vs PSI vs target AFR, see if you think this will work fine:
(or anybody else can input)

LOAD KPA /PSI Target AFR
0 = 85/-12.3281983 ?
7 = 69/-10.0075962 ?
14 = 53/-7.6869942 ?
21 = 38/-5.5114298 ?
28 = 23/-3.3358654 ?
35 = 8/-1.160301 ?
---------------------------

39 = 0 <----not a load band just where "0psi" is. AFR=12.3
---------------------------
42 = 1.15 = 12.5
49 = 3.45 = 12.275
57 = 6 = 12.05
64 = 8.25 = 11.825
71 = 10.6 = 11.6
78 = 12.7 = 11.375
85 = 15.15 = 11.15
92 = 17.35 = 10.925
99 = 19.7 = 10.7
107 = 22.2 = 10.475

attached is my current map

PS. i think my wastegate spring pressure is 14.5psi and it is connected directly to the turbo, no boost controller connected yet until i can get this tuning dialed in at least to 15 psi.... the reason i was hitting 20 psi was because i was so retarded the air/fuel mixture was still burning inside my turbo and causing it to overspool anyways regardless of my 42mm wastegate being full open!!! what you think about that?

Thanks Jeremy, I just checked my timing. it is 59.8 degs. and yes, it is way retarded! i am using a second Gen timing wheel to bias my setting and yes I am about 18 deg retarded!!!

Well, I when up to 43.8 is the best i could get which is pretty much there. i need to add fuel like crazy, the afr are off the rocker!!! wayyyyyy leaned out!

No wonder at 3000 rpm my runners would glow white with no load just free rev sustained free rev!

Thank Jeremy,I will up date the thread i had started to avoid any errors. I will get the timing done soon more accurately. but i must fly again tomorrow..... biiaaaattcccchhhh....
at least i am on the safe side not the hazardous side!

Thanks guys!!! Good luck for your dyno run!!!

Maybe we should post a sticky with initial timing for each engine type including how to set it up. with pictures.

any bump on this timing thing? its kinda important if you know what i mean..... well nobody in a FD shoud have their imput 1 tirgger out of this range = 41° - 45°
