J&S SafeGaurd.....
So, how can we adapt a 4 channel unit to operate with our wolf?
I would like to install the unit but the rx7 unit only retards the leading.... tending to blow things up if the leadin in retarded beyond the trailing. what you think guys?
Anyone knowlagable on the matter?
John at J&S is a nice chap but is taking to long to develop something for us rotary guys. I emailed recently if I could use there four channel box and i got a negative answer. If the unit can retard one cylinder at a time cant it retard the trailing independently??
any input here would be appreciated.
Cheers
George

well i had in mind of purchasing a unit.... but not before some really positive input
JS is known to destroy rotary engines.... by retarding the leading way beyond the trailing.
any feed back will be appreciated.

that could only happen if your ignition map didnt have enough split to contemplate for the retard
Mine has the ability to only retard a max of 4deg iirc, which should be good enough for any ignition map i know of as for most turbo ign maps ive seen have much more than 4deg

The stock engine ECU backs both the trail and leading up to 7 degrees but only looks fro knock over 2700 rpm I think.
I think if you have a knock sensor with a analog output you can use the aux input to regulate ignition timing using the Wolf.

Ok so now the plan is to get the J and S to read the input from the ignition but it does not deliver the output. The out put will be from the knock monitor. I will make the unit retard all to 20 degrees and since the display is a linear scale i will set the aux trim input linearaly.
I will install the unit shortly i hope. i hope this will work, which i am sure it will.
